Dreambox DM500-S Technical Questions

Hi, i got a DM500-S, need to know more about it. So i have a couple of questions.

DM500-S has a small memory, what are the options i have to allow me to add more add-ons, games, etc?

Each time i login to DCC it says bootmanager not found. I would like to try Multiboot, so which bootmanager would u recommend?
And i think Gemini Project 4.20 is the image i am using right now. What is an image anyway, is it an OS?
What other good image besides GP would u like to recommend?

How to check which Enigma version i am using?
Coz i need to install CCcam 2.21 and the files i got are

e1-CCcam_2.2.1_101122.tar.gz

and

e2-mipsel-CCcam_2.2.1_101122.tar.gz

I think the e1 and e2 stands for Enigma 1 and 2 so i need to know my Enigma version and chose the correct file to use.

May i know how to install the CCcam? Where should i place the .gz file in my dreambox
and what are the things i must do to set it up correctly?

Why you want to play game on your DM500. Theres much more to it than that.

Its Enigma 1.

PLI image is a good one for the 500s. To install CCcam install amnually as you have and it will be in /var/etc/

Play games is just an example, actually i wish to put more addons to give the machine more functions.

Can u tell me how u know is Enigma 1? And what is using Enigma 2 then? Dbox2 use Enigma 2?

First i would never trust gemini which a dm500s as in the past they have bricked thousands of them pli and dk are good images also the nabilosat images are very good.
Enigma 1 is the older software for older boxes such as the 500s and the 7020se ect the newer box like the 8000,800 and500hd use newer software called enigma2 you can not use enigma2 on a 500s it wont work.
You can forget multibooting on a dm500s as you said the memory is to small it would not hold 2 images and there is no usb port on a 500s to allow you to multiboot off.The is only enough memory to use a couple of cams at the most .The 500s is a low level entry to dreambox but still a very good box.If you were to use other images instead of gemini say nabilosat you can download and install the cams from there server with your remote but not with gemini

use the Plijade Maxvar Image,, it,s smaller than most..also you can down load CCcam from there server..cheers satcat

Hi, i have tried the PLi Jade on my DM500s,
the wording looks aweful on my old 29" Sony Wega CRT TV.

Previous the wordings wont caught my attention while
i use the original Gemini 4.20 but now with PLi i feel like
the contrast is a bit off, i just dun feel easy looking at
the words like PLi is meant just for LCD TVs.

What other options do i have now?
Gemini is shit, bad server support, wont go back.
