I need to buy a 3g router. It has to take an external antenna for the 3g. All the ones I can find ar "industrial" <<< lots of money.

Anyone know one that doesn't take a 3g USB dongle or maybe a dongle that will take an external antenna.

mj  3g depends on your location m8 have you got neighbors that have 3 dongles always pays to ask , their contention ratio is 64:1 although they will dispute this saying 22:1 as a max ,your location to the mast, building your in all these have to be considered , as daithi has said solwise are good but you can spend all you like if the signal ai'nt there you might aswell stick a wire hanger oot the window :)

This is going in a field, no houses anywhere near and we are assured that Vodafone works well.

We will see.
