Hello everyone. I've just obtained some files that have a lot to do with BMW programming and coding, etc. Only problem is, I have NO idea how to the program that I'm aiming for (NCS Expert) and I'm not even sure if it's even in the .rar that I found.

Anyway, so after unzipping the file I ended up with 3 folder: EDIABAS, INPA and "NCSExper."

All 3 of these folders contain an array of files..many of them are .exe files which I have no idea what their purposes are.

I was wondering if anybody has experience with NCS Expert for programming BMW's and if they knew of a special way to install it or if it's even in this pack.

You can download the file at this link for reference: http://rapidshare.com/files/429882289/NCSEXPER.rar

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

NCSExpert is not for programming, Winkfp is. NCS is for coding , if you want to learn about it read THIS (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1553779)

Hmm. I thought I read that NCS was for coding. All I really want to do is enable the auto window/sunroof closing while holding down the lock button. I know there's a way to do this via NCS or one of the coding programs. I actually already have NCS Dummy but I have no idea how to use it yet. (I'll check that link when I have time)

I appreciate your help by the way!

You can do it with NCS, but things are much easier with PA soft or SSS/Progman.

Hmm. Alright well I've just bought the OBD-II cable from somewhere in China that's compatible with EDIABAS and INPA. I'm assuming it'll work with PA Soft/SSS/Progman/NCS.

Do you know if PA Soft/SS/Progman have all of the same variables that NCS does? (as far as coding options go)

Do you know if PA Soft/SS/Progman have all of the same variables that NCS does? (as far as coding options go)No. PA Soft and SSS-Progman only show selected variables, the kind or variables a main dealer would change. NCS will show you all the possible variables, the kind that the factory would change.

Here are a couple of examples, of what an NCS "coding trace file" looks like...

Ok everyone. So I have the cable now. Only issue I have now is every file I've downloaded for NCS doesn't seem to actually contain NCS Expert in there but it has folders for INPA, EDIABAS, and an "NCSEXPER" folder which only contains NCS Dummy...

Is NCS Expert hidden in these folders somwhere? Help!

it is a lot more easier to use NCSDummy together with NCSExpert due you only have to set a hook in on every parameter nedds (wantet) to be change. For more information e.g. tutorials check out the following link:
NCS Dummy - Taking the expert out of NCS Expert - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1553779)

...admin...hope it is ok to post a link to another forum with a lot of needfull information about coding.....
