I am going to install 4 cat 5 e cables from my house to my garden cabin.
The cables will be above ground and clipped along the garden wall.
My first thoughts were to use external grade cable but the price for 100 meters was a bit out of budget for this project.
From what i can gather a standard cable should be fine and it appears the external grade are just more UV resistant???????
Can anyone shed any light on this at all?
I intend to paint over the cables in white masonary paint so they blend in any way and thought this maight be enough protection for them.

Personally I wouldn't use CAT 5 or any copper data cable outside, to much risk for damage during thunder storms.

Can you not use a wireless bridge?
