ok so i had a read here n thought id write a little tut on how people can do this themselfs

im not sure if this is same for all these models but what ive read on here they all seem to be in the same location.

pics included

step 1
Remove lid from deck.

step 2
remove screws holding in the cd deck and back rest bar and lift deck out while unclipping red connector. (mine was red)

step 3
look down the back left corener you will see 3 x surface mount 8 pin chips, starting from left to right, the first is a 24c08, second is same, third dont matter.

step 4
clean the legs of the 1st chip on the left with fiberglass pen or wire wool pen which ever you use.

step 5
clip the chip and take a reading and save the dump to your desktop. takes a few seconds depending on hardware.

step 6
open the said dump in winhex or whichever you use.
your code is on the end of the first line, mine in this case is "0408"

see attached pics for help.

note
if you have no data, ie station names in the dump then you may not have cleaned and or clipped right.

as you can see from my dump i have REAL, CITY96.7 & AIRE in there and many more further down.

good luck

dave
