As the title says, I need on ori file from any M3 E46 CSL. The type of ECU on the car is Siemens MSS53 or MSS54 as far as I know. Thanks in advance.

thanks, but I am pretty sure it is not CSL (370hp). I already have this file.

You can make bin files from progman dvd ecu files. They are in Ihex format and contain the data area of both cpus and the program area for both cpus. What is missing is the bootloader (*.bsu file) you have to read/use the bootloader from your ecu. What is the bmw part nr. of the ecu ?

Hello
First: There is no MSS53. It never exited. This is a fault coming from the kwp program crap ages ago. It made its way through the menues of other flash tools over the years

Second: The M3 CSL has a MSS54HP sort ecu with 2x 29F800 chips. The datablocks in each chip exceed the 0x4000 limit so the good read has the size of 64kB. This way to read/write is not supported by any clone flasher i know. They all can do only 32kB reads. So better not try to touch it. It will read incomplete 2x16kB but on the write it will erase 2x32kB by chip block erase command.
The MSS54HP can be found on some later normal M3 as well.

Third: The MSS54HP on the CSL is special since it uses a intake pressure sensor instead of air mass. It is NOT (as many people think) a pure alpha/n system! The ecu board has some parts different and on other locations as a normal MSS54HP.

Forth and finally. Viewing/studying the M3CSL file helps nothing at all to gain one single hp more on a normal M3!

I have a MSS54Hp right in front of me. But from normal M3 not CSL! Mine has 2 x 29f400 flash. The data area of each flash is 0x8000-0xFFFF (32kb). I can do read/write with gal1260 no problem it reads a 64kb file. For full read/write you could use the BDM interface i posted in the Help section, it can read 29f200,f400 and should read 29f800 no problem at all.

Yes, indeed, it's a MSS54, I realised this by making diagnosis with OPS on this car and identifying ecu. What I managed to read on this car with Galletto is a 64k file.

My hope was that studying the CSL file could help me upgrade the normal M3 content, but I didn't know that there are also hardware differences between this cars in matter of engine. I knew that CSL has different intake, but I didn't know that some engine maps are based on a MAP sensor, not MAF.

Thank you anyway and it's good to know that there are people who know in detail these so called "exotic" cars.

BR,
Alex.

Hi, a friend has a modified MSS54 that does the following to the S54:
1- No MAF just a plain airbox.
2- No Vmax (deletes 250kmh speedlimit)
3- increases rev limit to 8900rpm
Would cloning the two29F200 flashes with a Willem be enough to make my S54 run the same? Or must one have a BDM to clone the cpus as well?

EWS/Key can be taken care of, so starting my car won't be a problem.
