ok finally took the plunge and got a sat dish.Got a 1m dish and a dark motor. Motor turns fine by the looks of it. Am using a dm500s and pli image. I enter my long and lat and i get a message saying the motor is turning to sat 8.0w please wait but the message does not leave the screen. I got thor 1.ow the other nite on the dk image but changed image as it was freezing alot. Anyone any ideas why the message wont leave the screen?

Thanx

It was say that as its not locking.

TBH I owuldnt use usals on the dm500.

Go back and untick the goto. The goto next page (blue) then pick 28.2 from the drop down and move the dish as far east as it will then bring it back west as to avoid TP confusion with 19 East. Move it round till you hit your highest snr before the % drops. Once on it store then pick the next sat move and store again.

i did as u said on 8.0w atlantic bird and got snr of about 76% jumpin back and forward to 70%, but when i did a transponder scan on that sat it was scannin for 15 mins and so i just cancelled it... any other suggestions?

tell me if what i'm sayin is wrong, but the scale on the motor itself says its pointing at about 21 degrees west or does that not matter? I think its at 8w as snr is 76% and that sat is selected from drop down menu. Or do i have motor aligned incorrectly?

ab2@west hasnt got much on it nowadays and is used for feeds/turnarounds. your transponder details are probably out of date. try 11.178.h.27500..3/4 to get your signal lock and these txp,s have fta channels on them..
11.060.h. 2100..3/4
11.070.h. 2100..3/4
11.079.h. 2222..3/4
11091.h. 2850..3/4
11.106.h. 2100..3/4

you will have to add these txp,s to ab2 in the txp edit menu before you scan them in. as a example if your lat/long details were 54n and 3.1e then you would set your MOTOR LATITUDE to 54 and then ajust your DISH ELEVATION up+down and MOTOR azimuth left+right untill you have the highest sq readings. it can be frustrating but if you take your time and are carefull you will get it spot on eventually. regards mdt

stick with looking for 28.2 you should get 94%+. I have a 80cm dish in the west of scotland and thats what I get.

If you cant 28.2 then there must be a problem with the dish setup.

I always set the motor manually to 28.2 then using a sat beeper move the whole dish then check with satfind for snr levels.
