*EDC15 not stable always communication error.
*EDC16 still in test and never worked for me while all version are OK in other tools (EDC16 U1,U31,U34,CP34).
* some VDO golf4 and PASSAT that can be done by OBD are not present in the menu.

i don't know why all last updates are payable and so expensives even for old models like GOLF VISTEON. and i know that smelecom takes big experience from this forum.

You dont know what are you talking about. This tool is original project of Smelecom company and worth all money if you charge normal price for Micronas or Nec dash not 20-30 like in UK.

in all normal tools in updates descriptions we can find : A8 SWD331....., next time other version....
Smelecom starting sale NOT READY software, we do not know what versions are cover..... When I have bought new Vagprog, it was from firsts it did NOTHINK, I have sent to Smelecom a lot of FULL(Micronas+24c32) readed with xprog befor vagprog and after, with internals units foults and with the same milage..... and after one month version by version starting work..... I think some one can confirm this?

The Enigma works fine on the Golf 9s12, did you try it or just the NEC option?

becouse VAGs with Micronas sw like dp3, so this soft is from dp3, but others maybe from Enigma....

hey mate you say wrong smelecom have update cdc first tham DP3 i am 100% sure i have done with old case vag prog AUDI TT 2007 at this moment alome digiprog too by obd
for information first do by obd cdc is.

They cloned the DigiProg SW mate ;-), the hardware is their own.

I did point out that DigiProg was the first, they were doing the Micronas OBD (flashing) back in 2007, waaaay before anyone else!

smelecom ask 700USD for this option!!!!! asked them why so expensive ?? no answer.

just spoken to smelecom uk rep again he says big program but as nentioned above its nit cheap for the amount you see

9s12 its MagnetiMareli dash, NEC its VDO! So how many in precents are MagnetiMarely? I think somethink like Visteon in Golf5.....

i think also that are some of the rare dashes that need expensives updates. smelecom added the software but have to know if it work or no because no one of ENIMGA or DP spoke about this version

Seems like there is another annoying Polo cluster on the market, I bought a Bluemotion from may 2010 in Belgium which would not go by OBD. I removed the cluster and voila ! Johnson Controls looks much more fragile then VDO, didn't removed the chip vagprog doesn't recognise the cluster though. And I don't have time to play with going to sell the car.

I agree with you Marti.
Most people that I know who have them are refusing to pay the high update prices and are turning to other pieces of kit.
Just look at the asking price for their EEPROM adapter for instance !
Even tho they are the manufacturer, they surely must have noticed that updates are not being sold very often now. Most people think that even if they were to cut their prices in half, the updates would still not be cheep as most updates only cover 2 or 3 vehicles. Lets hope that they realise this and do something about their prices. Having said that , it is still a very reliable piece of kit.

The update prices are developement prices for china. A yearly salary for a chinese nerd is one update.
