I must apologise if this has been covered on here before, but a quick search didn't seem to provide the answers I am looking for. I have found that in recent months that my Sky+ HD has started to display increasingly erratic behaviour. Examples of this include:
- When fast forwarding at 12x speed, the picture will freeze, although the blue revolving lights on the front of the box continue to revolve. Pressing stop or backup have no obvious effect. Going into the Program guide allows me to select a recorded program or a live channel, but nothing is displayed on screen. The only solution seems to be to pull out the power and plug back in.
- recorded programs sometimes fail with a "Clashed" message - despite there being nothing else scheduled to record at the same time.
- the apparently common "no satellite signal" message is frequently received, although looking in the menu, there appears to be a strong signal on both channels. Again, a power cycle seems to be the only solution.
Will a system reset help? What about a disk defrag? Any suggestions would be welcome.
