Hi.
I need a win xp pro disc original [system builders]. Don't mind paying for it. No need for keys as I got original keys. Basicly I used to have win xp pro HP OEM sp2 system builders disc that would install win on any PC as long as I had a key. My disc got damaged and I cannot find a replacement. All the once I managed to borrow will not work with my keys. anybody can help me out? Thanks Greg

Each disk needs it's own key. You can install one of the disks you have tried, but use the key it came with. Then you can change the details in the registry & use your own key.

I have the details on paper somewhere. I'll dig them out tomorrow & post the tut.

Thanks all for your reply.
Canker:
I did try to input new key after registery change but it did not want to take my key. I have ordered a new XP pro disk so hopefully that will work. Thanks again.

Hi. Thanks for all that replyed. Got my disk thru the post today and all works. I know that I can freeload working operating system from the web but I'm a bit funny about using it, unless I know where it comes from. Any way it's all working now. Thanks again for the help. Greg

my advise to anybody doing a new install on a pc is this

all you need is an OEM xp pro or home disc, install as normal and use the manufacturer of your pc COA..:) it will install, register and update as normal.
if it does not register just follow the prompts...this will involve ringing microsoft's fully automated service.
easy peasy lemon squeezy

i have done this many times and i have used oem discs on self builds and used many different branded COA's on these self builds.

the only very slight difficulty is getting all your drivers....just go to your pc manufacturers website and download as normal or open your pc and have a look at what brand of motherboard it actually is then download of the mboard manufacturers website.

i have even used d*ll COA's and rung m/s to register i actually spoke to a person!!! and they asked me what d*ll system it was i said " its just the case with d*ll on the front i have upgraded m/board and just kept the case and hard drive" ...he then registered it for me.
i have reformatted and reinstalled twice since and it registered auto on line no probs.

heres hoping this info will help
