DM8000 HD - DM 800 HD HARD DISK HDD ISSUE (Gemini image 5.1)

You get that message when you hit the recording button :

Free Disk-size too small !!!
< 100MB
(in French " Espace libre disque trop petit <100Mb " )
even if you have correctly formatted a 2 Tb hard disk.

Cause : The /media/hdd link does not point to the correct disk path

Solution :

Check first the video recording disk label
Hit the Blue Button, then select Peripheral Manager.
Press OK on the listed HDD instance. It will show the HD mounting point
Take note of that mounting point.
(for example, if the disk label is dmdisk, the mounting point is /media/dmdisk)

Double check if the disk is properly mounted.
To do that within the Peripheral Manager, hit again the Blue button to enter the Menu.
Check if you have the "unmount" option only, which means that the disk is mounted.
(If you have the mount option only, select that option to mount the disk and don't forget to completely reboot your Dreambox after mounting the disk)

Exit that menu to return to normal viewing.

Hit the MENU button on the RCU, then "Setup", "System" and finally "Recording path".
You will see that the bookmark is likely set to /hdd/movie.
Using the Bouquet up button, to go up in the file tree, navigate to /media/dmdisk
(change dmdisk according to your hdd label)
Save the bookmark and exit that menu.

You should now be able to record programs normally.

iv managed to find the ''recording path'' menu on the after system now, but when i record a programme and press video to view what i have recorded, theres nothing there?

i changed the recording path to the relevant folder, but when you press the ''video'' button on the remote the menu shows loaction, /media/movies?

when the loaction should be something i changed to earlier?

any guidance here guys?

thanks.

the only issue im having at the moment is, that i cant change the path for recored files?

at the moemnt all recorded files come under:

/hdd/movies

which is a diectory under the flash memory,
i'm trying to re-direct it to my 320gb hd.

it records to the new hard drive perfectly, but when you press the ''video'' button on the remote it shud bring up everything you have reorded? instead, it shows the /hdd/movies directory with 15mb dipslayed at the bottom!

i have to go to file manager, media>hdd>mydrive
to play any recorded files, which is the long winded way! :(

can someone please help me change the recorded path directory fro the flash drive to the my new 320gb?

pulling my hair out here! :(

You can access the files in media player mate, but yes your right you should be able to get them by pressing video button.

Its been a while since I installed my hdd, im using gemini 5.1 too and all works fine including the video button, so it can be done.

I,ll try and have a think how I set it up and let you know.

Try unmounting the drive, then reboot
Then mount/initialise the drive, but dont give it a name, then reboot.

I had same prob mate, but it was sumat simple like forgetting to reboot after installed hdd.

It should name the folder where movies are stored parent.
Path is something like media/hdd/parent.

thanks for the advice, but i've tried it and no luck...

when you press the video button, i still get directed to the flash memory location /hdd/memory

this is looking like mission impossible, so i'm just gonna give up, wasted far too much time on it.

this image is absolute sh*te, should have stuck to nabilo, where i had absolute no issues recording and playing back videos.

thanks evryone.
