I want to buy a new tool for the new edc17 range.

Magpro2 + x17 vs New Galletto

This is my dilemma.
Both have similar price 3000+ euro. Both cover a lot of cars. I will mostly do diesels, and for the new cars I will need first support, checksum etc. Need opinions from those who use at least one of the tools. I think magpro2 has better support, but galletto has BDM included.

I have magpro2 + X17.

Good tool, works great!
Cheaper than galletto, magpro is 400 euros/year for updates and support... galletto 1000 euros/year and with magpro2 you have excellent support!!!

BDM: For my opinin is better to have another tool, not all in one! If one dies, you have the other! BDM100 costs 60 euros these days and do the job!

Very important: With Galletto if you don't pay the annual subscription (1000 euros) the tool stop working!!!

I use also MagPro2 and X17

All Tool works absolutely great, support is very good and lets say fast...normally less then 1 hour to resolve...latest contact after 24hour (was christmas)

If u want,u can get Magpro2 with integrated BDM100 but i dont think it s best way..i like have tools separate...so u not loose 2 tools at time when breaks...as alfy says.

400 contra 1000 euro annual fees for support...and seems adolfo sometimes tells he make super price for some euro more initial price he make lifetime free update...but after 1 year he often forghet what he say...

I would always go back, and buy Magpro tool....

Best regards.

hi,
Bazare you need to take in consideration more things.

If you work with new car,and so you have the possibility of take more money for tuning, you cannot look at magpro.
Better choice is fgtech.

If you are a newbie then maybe is better go vs magpro for his support.

If u haven't budget problem genuine kess is the solution.

At last you get what you pay for

hi bazare, last year im in your position......

i find better price for galleto ( a reseller ask me 2000 eur) for complete kit....
but in this moment i decide buy CMD with tricore Kit.

i hear that galletto have very bad suport, many times in updates the Hw. have problems, and you need you send to repair (paying of course), and hear too that tricore prot kit, not run 100% ok

i hear about magpro that have very good support, and at the moment good results, but may be not the more faster tool....

hope was usefull for you, and sorry for my english

well I don't do chiptuningfor living. I work in chiptuning for 2 weeks per month so it's like a second job. I am thinking that magpro is a good tool with good suport and fair price. I have maybe 5-10 clients in a month so not very much. I compared carlist of magpro & x17 vs galletto. I'm interested in cars only and galletto is not more advanced in diesels. I already have genuine mpps. I think I will go with magpro in the end because galletto has very poor support and my budget is limited to maximum 3000 euro. So CMD and KESS si excluded. I now have also New Genius but I will sell it as I don't have updates from 2010 and also don't have possibility to update.

Galetto have tricore and boot mode,
magpro for now not support boot mode(he told that was ready in october 2010.now is march 2011).
With galletto i do 10 edc17 bmw tricore and some audi edc17, 5 truck and 10 or more mjet with spansion eprom when magpro dream this car,but if you have problem Galletto support is ok at 50%.
Magpro support is ok.

Also u can ask offert to alientech maybe in this bad moment of crisis they can price cutting.

The problem in chiptunign is one,
if u cannot tuning one ecu and you neighboor instead yes ,
then u will lose customer + his friend etc.
Remind this.
