A3 EDC16U1 IMMO OFF

Hi all...got an audi a3 in today with cluster immo failure so i need to immo off the edc16u1 ecu..i removed eep and read with upa and used immokiller, edc16 tool and carsoftware also to remove immo....but it did not start each time i tried it..any ideas as i thought edc16 was easy to immo off!!..i have attached original dump from bosch 0281011832 03G906016 CC EDC16U1 ecu

Or maybe you have other problem. I didnt use immokiller or carsoftware but just checked and gave same result as mine

hi thanks but tried this one already.....do i need to cut immo lines etc......or is it possible to immo off at all?

Are you 100% sure that the immo is what is causing the car not to start?

hi....the car is starting but intermittently the dash does not come on with the ign on so it wont start and the customer asked me to immo off until they can locate a s/h dash so it wont let him down..orig file works when reloaded but any mod file results in a non start...any ideas?

Hi i just had same prob with same ecu edc16u1 once it wouldnt start then it would it turned out to be no earth feed to main relay coming out of the ecu, so ecu was it was faulty ended up replacing it with second hand one mine was on vw tourran 2004 i am thanking its a known fault by VW ....

can you tell me if engine management light and glow plug come on when it starts? and when it doesnt start they dont ?? can you get comms with ecu when engine dosnt ??

HI Kev....my problem is the dash dies with no lights at all and so no immobiliser resulting in non start...but only now and then....so my customer wants me to remove immo in the edc16u1 ecu until they can locate a secondhand dash...my problem is all immo off files i tried resulted in a non-start but when i reloaded the original file it starts.

It sounds like to me you have same fault as i had ,you need to check if pin 49 on ecu has earth when ignition is on this is the earth feed for main engine relay, if not then your fault is down to the ecu have a look on my posts for touran hope this helps ....

thanks umoussa...tried several methods but will not start with any but if i put back original file it starts o.k., as the cluster is faulty sometimes and is the reason for the customer coming in the first place, i removed the cluster and its on its way to BBA.....weird that it wont immo off, would like to figure out why....:hmpf:
