Starting on 2 November, 2000 and continuing for a period of about five months, someone calling themselves Timetravel_0 began posting to a number of online time travel-related message boards claiming to be a time-traveller from the year 2036. The first websites Timetravel_0 posted to include the Art Bell site1 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/#footnote1) and the Time Travel Institute (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/go/dna/h2g2/A6345407/ext/_auto/-/http://www.timetravelinstitute.com/) site. After a while Timetravel_0 changed his name to John Titor, although this apparently was not his real name. read the full story on BBC - h2g2 - John Titor: a Time Traveller From The Year 2036? (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A6345407) great info... whether its real or not who knows... even google john titor, it shows you his time machine.

"According to Titor there were six main components to his time machine:

1. Two magnetic housing units for dual micro singularities
2. An electron injection manifold to alter mass and gravity micro singularities
3. A cooling and X-ray venting system
4. Gravity sensors, or a variable gravity lock (VGL)
5. Four main caesium clocks
6. Three main computer units"

He forgot about the Flux Capacitor.

so the world isn't ending in 2012 then lol lol lol

or maybe the earth will get buggered up in 2012 and john titor has travelled back in time to the year 2000 in order to try and prevent whichever apocalypse we are to face but has obviously decided that he can't be arsed because he's buggered off lol.

alternatively, john titor is a liar. a sad, lonely and pathetic individual, making up outlandish stories to try and make himself sound more interesting to others.
It could be worse, he could've become a serial killer.
or, even worse...

he could come on here posting stupid comments in the 3WS / Liverpool / Man Utd threads just like everyones favourite idiot ;)

Can't believe that after all these years, he's still getting mentioned. Wish I'd come up with the idea. Must be hilarious and astounding for the person who came up with the idea and then got onto the forums.

Interesting article here.
Titor said that time travel was discovered as a result of the experiments at CERN

If he was a time traveller and he has started posting on forums, then surely the people in the future will be aware of his posts as the legend has been created - therefore they wouldnt send him back because of the consequences.
