re read what i said.. Did i say i want him sacked, have i said that..? or have i said all along he needs more than 7 games..

i don't think he has long left, rightly or wrongly, that is where i see the club going now..

no-one wanted to come, it was a poison challis.. by everyone's admission RH wasn't their first choice..

If we'd have been on a level playing field when Benitez left, there would have been a greater interest from the real top managers..

Now with the wiping out of our debt we will be back on that level playing field..

All i'm saying is i don't think he'll get much time with the new owners if the players keep letting him down..

Do you think they have spent ?300m to be in the bottom 3..???
right.........who are these top managers????????????
i never said that you said to sack him!!
who was first choice??? kenny??? he was my choice. but the king is dead, long live the king... king roy................

I seen the interview with John Henry after the sale went thru and he answered questions but i had to laugh when they asked him how he is financing the purchase of Liverpool FC that is when he said no more questions. I just feel he won't be around for long. I hope he don't suck money out of the team to buy useless baseball players. I'm glad the team was bought cause it needed to be done for Liverpool to have a chance of going forward.

they made a lot of 'noise'.. enough noise to the right people meant that G&H didn't get refinanced.. They aren't taking credit but giving credit where it is due.. to its members, who, like me, took direct action.. inundated companies that were prepared to talk business with hicks, made enough 'noise' for them to say 'No Thanks'..

What exactly did SoS do that could of blew the takeover..??

They already have a seat on the board.. were do you think membership fee's go..?? To buy shares, fan representation on the board..

I think you haven't read the email properly or know enough about SoS to comment..

But like most people in this world, you will pass judgment with half the facts..

Our anthem says 'Walk on, Walk on, with hope in your heart'..

Too many reds unfortunately choose to 'Walk on by'.. I suspect you were one of them.. happy to sit back, do nothing, probably even bough merchandise that paid G&H's interest..if you think email twitter facebook had anything to do them leaving the club your living in cuckoo land the only reason they left was because of refinancing no other reason if they could have got the money they would still be here and no facebook email or any other stuff like that would have stopped them i lost my respect for the sos when relesed the minutes of there meeting with the md when they said they wouldnt i buy my lfc stuff from the hillsbourgh shop that were my money goes .were you going the game when they in charge if so were did that money go

interesting read on sky sports news. hick said he tried to pay the debt off last week but was blocked. i dont like the guy but there is something fishy about the deal. i think the board was getting back handers from nesv. i think this is backed up by the fact they declined 2 higher offers for the club! when henty was asked how he was financing the club, he didnt answer the question, does anyone know? im not convinced this was right, i recon lim was the best option. he was completely honest at the begining.

Well if lim was honest from the beginnig then why was it like he waiting for the club to go into administration ? So he could get the club for ~~~~ all? And when he saw he was losing the battle he offered 40 million extra as a sweetener??? imo

i just think after watching the full interview on sky sports there are 2 sides to a story. they may of had debt on the club, but the club was making money. rafa spent more money thank any other club on crap players. i think rafa was the main problem tbh. now the excuse of owners is out the window lets see what happens on the pitch. i dont think we will see an improvement.

I don't think we'll see an improvement neither, well at least not right away but i hope i'm wrong. Your right when you say Rafa spent a lot of money on crap but remember he was not given money as such, he had to sell to buy which is why the club were in profit, they never spent any money on players.
Infact they never spent a penny full stop. The money they bought the club with was all borrowed . Don't let the ~~~~ers pull the wool over your eyes

if you think email twitter facebook had anything to do them leaving the club your living in cuckoo land the only reason they left was because of refinancing no other reason if they could have got the money they would still be here and no facebook email or any other stuff like that would have stopped them.....

Did you even listen to Hicks interview, he actually blames the fact that he couldn't get refinanced on a deliberate militant Internet terrorist campaign, which inundated suitors with 'lies' about clubs debt..

its going to take a momentous half time team talk to bring this back..

I've said give RH a chance but this 45 mins is it for me..

He sent the team out not fired up from the kick off.. second best constantly.. No plan B and a shite plan A..

He looks tactically inept at the moment..

If we don't win this there is daylight between us and 4th from bottom..

If he can't raise the team for the most important derby in years then he wont be able to drag us out of this position..

where is the line between giving him a chance and giving us a chance of rescuing our season.???

for me he has to go now.. he thinks we played well..

The Liverpool manager, Roy Hodgson, was pleased with his players despite another disappointing result at Goodison Park, where they lost this afternoon's Merseyside derby 2-0 to Everton.

He said: "We fell behind to a deflected block which fell kindly for Cahill so I thought at half-time we were a bit unlucky to be a goal down because we had got back into the game well. In the second half we did everything the team could possibly do, we played well, created chances, we limited them to very few and put them on the back foot."

must have been watching a different game..

The one i saw we played fcuking awful, couldn't manage a half decent chance and had nothing to offer..

Who would I replace him with..??

I'm not sure but what I am sure of he is not up to the job..

A side with Pepe, Gerrard & Torres in shouldn't be second from bottom mid October

I hear all the logical statements about giving him time, you don't sack a manager 6-7 games into a season, he inherited a bad squad, not the Liverpool way etc.. etc..

However, there are times in business when you have to accept that you have made a big mistake in recruiting someone and maybe its best to part company sooner rather than later and before any further mistakes are made.

Usually this happens when you spot that their methods don't fit, they don't have the respect of the staff, technically they haven't got what it takes

The Liverpool board now have this predicament with Roy. He's a decent, respected guy, 35 years in the game, but lets be blunt he's not won a decent trophy in a decent league in that time. That's not the track record we want at Liverpool.

The Board now have to act ruthlessly and move him on, for his sake and most importantly for the sake of the team and the club

Bring in a management team for the remainder of the season, Daglish - to build morale and motivate the players, along with a technically excellent coach to make up for Kenny's years out of the game.

Then recruit a top class manager in the close season.

We can't go on putting up with performances like that and there are no signs that it will get any better. Its clear that Roy and his methods are not working and he's not a Liverpool manager

I'm afraid he is out of his depth, he a great guy.. a nice guy..

i don't want Rafa back, but to ask where he is is a bit daft, he's with the current European and Italian champions..

Name names..?? there is no-one available NOW.. that's why Daglish would be an interim until the close season..

We can search for a replacement between now and then..

Look.. RH is a nice guy, he's got 35 years in the game.. His tactics aren't working at Liverpool and he has guided us to 19th place..

He obviously can't fire the players up, they look lost..

How long boomer is too long..

When does the time to give RH a chance turn into no time left to turn our season around..

Increasingly there is the feeling that Torres is doing Liverpool a favour by turning out every week and that the club have become a millstone for him rather than a great platform on which to perform.”

“The reality is that, Steven Gerrard aside, the drive has gone. Fernando Torres is playing like a man who considers every further minute spent in a red shirt to be a horrible waste of his time, while Joe Cole is playing like the man Fabio Capello doesn’t pick, rather than a man he should"

y not over the years Liverpool supporters have been spoilt with your success but now the whole set up of the club is wrong but the players are the ones that do it on the pitch not the board or manager i think you need to realise you are not as good as you all think

as i said a while ago start to re think who is to blame

koppit
18th October, 2010, 05:05 PM
i would say our problems run deeper than a manager or players.the unrest at the top and the conflict between the board and raffa shouldnt have affected the squad, after all it wasnt as though they might not get paid or worse, but it seems as though it has.
at the start of the season we had a big squad supplemented by some decent kids but every game i look at the team and the bench and scratch my head.why is it that there is no quality, most if not all are internationals and yet they cant pass, move off the ball or keep their shape.have we just bought too much sh1te or let too many good players go.finnan, xabi, sammi and hamman were imo better than what weve ended up with.
if roy stays, not on my list like others, someone has to seriously look at what money is available and make sure that it is spent wisely.we cannot afford to make any more mistakes.last year i thought we needed 2 to 4 players, now its more like 9.

opsmonkey

Benitez is to blame for me.. He spunked off the little money he had on top drawer shite.. Our squad is littered with drivel who would struggle to get into a Championship side..

The previous owners were a smokescreen to hide his failings behind..

Now we are left with a manager who, IMO, is not up to the task, the table doesn't lie..

The few players we do have that are up to EPL standard must look around them and think WTF is going on..

It's going to be a minimum of 3 years before we see the back of this current crop of shite (bar a few)

The Dutchman took the helm at Gala in June 2009 after leaving Barcelona in 2008 but he was only able to lead the club to a third-placed finish in the league last season.

They have made a slow start to the new campaign and are currently ninth in the standings, eight points adrift of leaders Bursaspor.

The decision has therefore been taken by mutual agreement to terminate Rijkaard's contract and proceed with a new man.

Pellegrini representative confirms contacts with Liverpool
Wednesday October 20, 2010
Source: dpa
Manuel Pellegrini is in negotiations to direct the ailing Liverpool, announced today the representative of the strategist, Jesus Martinez.

"We had some contacts, but as the club is in the process of change, and no one knows who is boss, no progress on the topic," Martinez revealed.

The choice of the former coach of Real Madrid, came about because of the poor performance of the England team, now led by Roy Hodgson.

Martinez added that the possibility of commanding technically Liverpool Chilean appeals more to other offers from the last time, junior teams and tradition.
"Pellegrini has had offers from clubs in Italy, but initially wanted to wait a bit to some better option," said the representative.

"And Liverpool is a club that Manuel would like to address," he said.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has admitted Wayne Rooney's desire to leave Manchester United could mean his star striker Fernando Torres is targeted by their arch-rivals.

But while he said he accepted there was always a chance the Reds could lose players like the Spain international, he was determined to keep Torres.

Rooney's intention to leave United has already sparked speculation about who Sir Alex Ferguson would line up to replace him.

Chelsea were heavily linked with a bid for Torres in the summer which never materialised but Rooney's situation has already sparked rumours about Torres.

The striker, with only one goal to his name, has cut a sorry and frustrated figure this season.

"I think I'd have to say we'd cross that bridge when we come to it," said Hodgson when asked about the threat of United possibly trying to sign Torres.

"I am pretty sure when a great player like Wayne Rooney is looking to leave his club, Manchester United will be in a position to target an awful lot of players around the world.

"I don't think Fernando Torres would be the only player they will be targeting or [we would be] the only club worried their star striker is going to be a target.

"They will have the opportunity to replace him with many star strikers around the world, so all I can say is I am not naive to the situation.

"I am not naive enough to think there is no danger we will ever lose a player like Fernando Torres.

"I can only hope we won't and I will make certain I do everything in my power to keep him happy at the club, help him improve his current form and to get him playing for Liverpool as he has in the past."

Liverpool FC News | Click Liverpool (http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/)

Liverpool have approached Manuel Pellegrini about the possibility of replacing Roy Hodgson, according to the former Real Madrid manager's agent.

The 56-year-old met Anfield chiefs this summer to apply for the role of Rafael Benitez's successor before it was offered to then Fulham boss Hodgson.

Jesus Martinez, Pellegrini's agent, claims that there has been contact with Liverpool but that the current change of ownership to New England Sports Ventures (NESV) has stalled any progress over negotiations.

He said: "Pellegrini has had offers from clubs in Italy, but initially wanted to wait a bit to some better option. And Liverpool is a club that Manuel would like to manager.

"We had some contacts, but as the club is in the process of change, and no one knows who is boss, no progress on the topic."

Pellegrini was relieved of his duties at the Bernabeu Stadium in May after only amassing 96 points, which resulted in Los Blancos failing to wrestle the La Liga title from Barcleona's grip.

Former Nou Camp boss Frank Rijkaard remains the firm favourite to succeed under-fire Hodgson after resigning as Galatasaray manager earlier today, supposedly in anticipation of taking the reins on Merseyside.

at least rafa would come out and tell the press where to go and torres was staying. torres is down, hes having bad form, he has always said he doesnt want to go anywhere else. if he leaves its because someone in the club has upset him, not the position in the league. simple

Two Liverpool fans have been stabbed in Naples ahead of the Europa League tie in the city.

Liverpool are due to play Napoli, at the team's San Paolo stadium, on Thursday evening.

Merseyside Police said a total of six Liverpool fans were assaulted in the Italian city on Wednesday night.

Two men, aged 27 and 52, were taken to hospital with stab wounds. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, a police spokesman said.

He said the force was working with its counterparts in Naples to help with the policing of the game.

A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said: "We can confirm the hospitalisation of two British nationals in Naples, Italy on 20 October."

"We are providing consular assistance."

New manager and yep he would still be playing the same shit.
Hodgson needs at least a season, he's had one transfer window under the last regime of yanks signed 2 players that strengthen your squad cole and meireles. Thats a start is it not ?
Tactically lfc dont have a system yet it's a transistion and until the manager finds whats best then mistakes are abound.
He needs a season at the very least. On another point i thought the team played well last night, R.H might do well to stick with those lesser skilled more passionate players to show your current crop what it means to play for the club.

A far better performance and our best one this season. I noticed Torres was off and right down the tunnel at the final whistle, he didn't he clap the crowd. Something still not right with him.

noticed that myself mate if he's going to be like (sulking) it needs to be sorted out a.s.a.p.

Where else will he go, cant see him in Italy and germanys a **** league theres no where else but spain. Barca cant afford him and cant see him playing for Real with his Athletico roots. Opens the door wide for the likes of City and Chelsea really. City more likely as Chelsea already have one of the leagues best forwards. Tevez lol would be shown up as the 2nd rate pile of shite he really is if there was some decent competition.

I can see you calling Italy a sh*tty league but over all the German League is much better than La Liga. The Prem is usually about 4 teams but in Spain it's all about 2 teams. Can you guess which ones. As of Torres after today he's not going anywhere

Cnt wait for our next game, Like stevie said, 2-3 wins we'll be in or close to top four, Just need to keep this belief, After rewatching the match, From the 61st minute to the 66th minute we piled the pressure on, continued attack on the opposition 18yrd box, That was a short glimpse of the real dominant Liverpool.. We need to build on that....... superb performance and i heard one guy on the radio after the game insist that was our worst performance yet...?? Unbelievable.

Why are you arsed..? you never go..

?20 Kop ticket for Europa League game.. cheap as chips.. doubt you'll go though

Wigan tickets ?28 and that is classed as high profile.. Our ticket prices are a disgrace...

buyers market wigan only sell any tickets if they are playing a top team

you lot fill your ground so they are going to get what they can in ???'s because if someone dont renew their season ticket cos its too dear or wahtever there is another waiting to pay full whack for it

wigan dont have that problem unfortunately for them so they have to get people in the ground by offering cheaper seats and season tickets as an incentive to hard up families who cant afford utd and liverpool

you can talk about money all day and moan about prices whatever you like you also moan about buying players or not buying enough players

the bottom line is its YOU the supporter that buys the players in shirt sales, ticket prices even down to the sky tv money the clubs get its all payed by fans

the more money YOU pay and everyone else pays to liverpool FC the more money they can spend on players and then there millions in wages on top

i know there aint been much lately but thats just been due to debt you have always been big spenders compared to most and at the end of the day its ultimately the fans who pay for every signing

you want big players to sign for lfc you got to expect top seat prices because if you dont pay the money they go elsewhere

how did you get a ticket for wigan..? you wont have even half the required amounts of credits.. unless you went to a minimum of 3 away games last season and you are a season ticket holder

You have been to all Europas..? well thats odd as i remember you saying you couldn't get a Steaua online and then you couldn't be arsed to get one on the gate, so either you were on the blag then or now.. and then you said Northampton was your first game so how did you go to the first game of the season against Arsenal..???

Good win today. even thou i don't like Lucus he has been playing ok since he has stopped attaching and has been staying solely as a holding player. Get rid of Paulson. To everyone complaining about Hodgson to just get off his back. Look at the shape Liverpool was after Rafa left and i didn't see any other mangers breaking down the door to lead the club. Would you leave a club that you are having success and can't do no wrong to joining a club that is high profile and in shambles and where the fans are border line criminals ( Just Kidding ) and will rip you apart if things don't go their way. Just give him a break.
