Start with a wi-fi card or dongle that uses the RTL8187L chipset.

BT4 is now available & easier to use due to a greater range of built in drivers.

A WPA-PSK password will need a dictionary if you're going to stand a chance of cracking it. There are some available on-line, but most are useless. New equipment usually comes with a pre-installed password/key. These are random numbers and/or letters. Unless the owner has changed this you won't stand a chance with a dictionary.

A brute force crack will take longer than the days you have left to live.

It will be easier to break into their house & take the key from the sticker on the bottom of the router.

Unless the SSID of the wireless is really common, you don't really stand a chance, unless you're lucky with a dictionary.

Backtrack 4 also has R2 now with even more drivers.

If its a large wifi network, social engineering may be the best way to get the password.
