Hi all, I finally managed to read out my second (to experiment with) ECU with an Galletto 1250 clone.
I write "finally" because I tried to read without immo connected and unlocked, this gives an "Changing speed error" with the Galletto.
I have recieved the ECU as a gift, luckely with CODE;
After executing the emergency start procedure (without starting) the immo in my car approved and I could read / write :D
I'm still learning and doing this for 3 reasons:
- I want to test my second ECU because the garage once said my own ECU is possibly defective.
- I want to upgrade to new software (I allready have the new software.
- I want to turn off the EGR valve and change the idle speed with A/C off to 900 RPM (this is now 850)
IF someone can do it for me, to both files that would be REALLY great!
BUT I would also like to know what you did because I just want to gain some knownledge here ;)
I Allready know that I can't write my original ECU's software to the second ECU without error :P
IMMO won't go off and the MIL / VDC error stays on :P
Please help me out :)

.... files:
www.studio-lahaye.nl/backupECU.ori (http://www.studio-lahaye.nl/backupECU.ori)
Only need immo off or: A procedure HOW-TO would also be reallly nice!
So what program's do I need, how to find the proper HEX line to edit (how do i know what is what?) what does the checksum do and how to calculate it?
With that I could come a good way there (I guess)
thanks!

thank you very much, will try this later on, it's a matter of uploading to the ECU and it will work right?
Do you care to explain some of the work you've done or with what program?
I do know now that Damos files are the overlays of the BIN files so you can see what you do :P
Somehow can't get WinOLS to work yet (downloaded the one with 1500 damos files) but I have tried only on Windows 7 x64 and a virtual machine, will try XP and Win 7 x86.
I downloaded WinOLS demo to see how it looks (got a Damos file from somebody else) and I saw A LOT of option.. multiple EGR things from which I don't know what they do :P
so how could I do an EGR shutoff for example?

I don't use software for this type of ecu.
3 areas of immo cleared + chksum

No program used? It's all in your head then? :P
Well as you have read in my PM, I just wrote the ECU and the immo's still on :(
That means: CODE light and MIL are lit and I can't start (tried it)
IMMO box is still connected but that shouldn't matter right?

Disconnected the IMMO box (2 connectors) KEY CODE light stays off (logical) but MIL still lits up, car CAN't be started..
Do I need to generate the checksum or did you allready do so?
Car does start with your upload and with emergecy procedure (I still have the key code)
so immo's not off :P
I hope you can explain / fix this for me :)

OK I have now corrected all files (9 total in the meanwhile) with different software (immo off) and checksum corrected them against the original software AND the other ECU's software.
will try, hope it works..
If someone can check them for me, would be nice :P

I tried all the files, uploaded them to the ECU, turned off dash 10 seconds, turned on dash and the IMMO light still lits up.
Do I always have to disconnect the IMMO box?
By the way:
I used various "Immo off" programs and created the checksum with "ULTIMO checksum corrector" (first loaded the edited file, then the original and then save the file in a folder "checksum corrected files" to keep them apart :D
Is this last okay?? I do get all different checksums with the files..

what's the probleme m8
do you need immo off?
so post one dump and i will do it for you
sanscorp

yes, for now only immo off.
Do I have to disconnect the IMMO box after uploading this to the ECU?
Dump, right-click --> save as:
www.studio-lahaye.nl/backupECU.ori (http://www.studio-lahaye.nl/backupECU.ori)
I also want to learn some, so what do you exactly do and why does it fail with me?
PM is also good if you don't want to share it publicly.
thank you!
PROBLEM DESCRIBTION AND MOTIVATIONS:
Dealer says I need to replace the ECU because it's probebly defective, costs 1500 euro's.
problems are:
- MAF value wrong (Mg/inj instead of mg/kg)
- ODOmeter in ECU does not work (stays on 0,0km's, just like "at last rewrite")
- The software I have here is newer and dealer can't update my old ECU
Wishes:
- I want the idle speed with AC off changed to 900 RPM instead of 850.
- I want to have the latest software and hope for a good functioning car
- Want to learn how to do this rewriting and programming to experiment / learn (HOBBY!)
The best would be new ECU, new software, working with current IMMO box, don't even know if that is possible :P

i can't downoald your dump!!!
sometimes you have to disconnect immo box to be able to read flash with galetto like in vw you have to disconnect the fuse of dash to be able to read flash
on EDC15C7 you can desolder the eprom(95P08) to be able to read flash or as you do disconnect the immo box
as you like
to correct checksum i use always winols

MAF value is right it's given by:mg/2 revolution
2revolution=1cycle engine = 4 injections (one for each injector
i attached an exemple for diagnostic your alfa 156 2.4 jtd
sanscorp
10th March, 2011, 10:18 PM
OK I will leave the MAF, but i still want to check the rest ;)
try this:
http://www.studio-lahaye.nl/mappings/originals.rar
It's the file named: "2e ecu read.ori"
I allready figured that I can't read or write without permission of the IMMO and have to perform the emergency unlocking procedure (I have the Alfa code so that works)
With some of my own "edited" maps I can write without doing the "emergency start" but I can't actually start the engine.. (MIL's on)

when mil is on you have to read dtc in ecu with diag interface to know what's the probleme
and before you flash your ecu with galetto you must check that in ecu you don't have any dtc
this is your immo off

See next post...
With current ECU I can start normally, immo works properly and there are no fault codes!
sanscorp
11th March, 2011, 10:33 AM
I'm sorry to report that it doesn't work..
The IMMO light stays on and therefor also the MIL.
U1600 (immo key faulty) is stored.
what I did:
- Disconnect current ECU
- Connect second ECU
- Turned on contact and entered code to unlock (emergency starting procedure)
- Loaded Galletto 1250 software, opened your file and pressed "Write"
- Write succesvol, turn of dash 10 secs and then turn on.
- Close program, turned off dash, turned on and hooked up KKL kabel and checked with FiatECUscan.
I have an U1600 code and within parameters I have NO STARTING permission.
Error occurs with immo box connected AND disconnected...
what am I doing wrong??

HI
if you have an ecu that start without probleme why you search immo off?
clone the new ecu
read 95P08 of old ecu and write in the new ecu
read FLASH 29F400 of old ecu and write it in new ecu
if this solution not work too ,so the new ecu is damaged
sanscorp

Hi,
The problem is that I don't know how to do that :D
IMMO works fine, but donno how to clone! .... :(
New ECU works 100% sure, car also starts on new ECU with emergency procedure.
You say read 95P08, this is WITHIN the bin file I read with the galletto right?
Next you say, read FLASH 29F400, is this also in the bin??
If not: what is the difference? :D
Both original AND backup ECU files are here in this topic, are you able to do this for me?
IMMO intact is even better then immo off :D
sanscorp
12th March, 2011, 09:17 AM
Oh the reason I do this is because the new ECU has NEW software.
I'm NOT going to experiment with my own ECU if I don't have a working backup.
I need my car to much for that :P That's why I want IMMO off OR working so I can swob ECU's.
I just want to know if it's an hardware or software fault.
So can you explain where the problem is and maybe even fix it for me? :D thnkQ

pls sir grinovsky
i have vag(vcds) i want to reprogram a used ecu (secondhand ecu) to fsi 2.0 car i cannt get skc code
pls how can i clone the ecu
sanscorp
24th April, 2011, 08:03 PM
It's quite difficult to clone or get the immo off on a ECU..
Not something that allways works (not one file from here worked on my ecu)
better get your hands on the immobilizer unit and transponders: quicker and nicer!

ok
you have to open ecu read eprom 95p08
with a eprom programmer then you can use the reading of the galetto to write the new ecu with (again) an eprom programmer like gq 4x will do this
