I have changed the battery on a peugeot 206 and my power-up tool somehow disconnected from the cigarette lighter while doing it and I've lost the radio code.
As I understand from previous posts here on this model a code can only be obtained from a dump of the chip or the bar code serial number. (although I have seen some have been obtained on DK via the vin number).
I have tried to contact the supplying dealer for their records but they have since gone bust and my local Peugeot dealer being about as useful as a glass hammer wants me to take the car into them to remove the stereo etc and a load of other *ullshit for some silly extortionate fee.
It would be far cheaper to just buy another radio unit or probably invest in an interface if I would be likely to use it again.
If this can only be sorted via a dump can anybody suggest a cheap interface to read the chip? If so will it cover other makes as well and is it relatively easy to recover the code afterwards from the dumps?
The only details of this current pile of junk are PU-2325a, CL0410Y0060692 and vin number VF32CRHYF41377927

Any sort of help or advice will be much appreciated as this it not the first time I've had problems with car radio codes but have been lucky before being able to decode them from serial ... eg Fords etc...
I have good soldering skills if need be.

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply but I am not sure what I would read it with? Hardware/software etc. that sort of thing. I know if I post the dump someone will be able to help me.
Can this sort of thing be done with something like a Lexia 3 via odb socket as I know someone who has one of these.
Sorry to be a pain but I know a limited amount about radio decoding and it is not blatantly obvious. Usually I find it easier to get another radio from the breakers yard already with a code. That is what I usually have to do so would be probably better if I knew what to get in order to read these dumps off the chip etc... to avoid keep doing this.

I did see that on another thread and have the schematic of the pin outs on the chip but thank you for pointing that out.
What I really need to know is what do I read it with? Cheap ebay thing? Can it be done in situ or desoldered? any software required?
How do you obtain the code from the dump? and that sort of thing.
I'm trying to run before I can walk!

Thanks...

Does anybody know if there is an alternative for this programmer? I cant find much info or any sense in their website for prices/delivery cost etc. and nobody else seems to supply it.
Is there anything similar or better that is for sale on ebay or from a website that delivers to UK that would be useful for other car related things as well as radio.
Preferably with prices would be helpful!...... Thanx..
