I have changed the battery on a peugeot 206 and my power-up tool somehow disconnected from the cigarette lighter while doing it and I've lost the radio code.
As I understand from previous posts here on this model a code can only be obtained from a dump of the chip or the bar code serial number. (although I have seen some have been obtained on DK via the vin number).
I have tried to contact the supplying dealer for their records but they have since gone bust and my local Peugeot dealer being about as useful as a glass hammer wants me to take the car into them to remove the stereo etc and a load of other *ullshit for some silly extortionate fee.
It would be far cheaper to just buy another radio unit or probably invest in an interface if I would be likely to use it again.
If this can only be sorted via a dump can anybody suggest a cheap interface to read the chip? If so will it cover other makes as well and is it relatively easy to recover the code afterwards from the dumps?
The only details of this current pile of junk are PU-2325a, CL0410Y0060692 and vin number VF32CRHYF41377927
Any sort of help or advice will be much appreciated as this it not the first time I've had problems with car radio codes but have been lucky before being able to decode them from serial ... eg Fords etc...
I have good soldering skills if need be.
Thank you.
