S4.5 - Mercedes Benz Key programmer (http://www.codecard.lt/carprog/software/carprog-immo/s4-5-mercedes-benz-key-programmer/prod_75.html)

Anyone else bought and used this? Have you had the same problems as me which are poor designed and very buggy software, transponder doesnt program properly or transponder is never recognised at all to start with? In my opinon this product is absolute junk, can someone please prove me wrong as this cost a fortune and now it lives under the bench as it doesnt work.
Oh yeh I also forgot to mention, there backup service is non existent, they dont reply to emails at all. On a positive note, there delivery times are very good, its just a shame that when the product arrives that you paid alot of money for, it doesnt work and they obviously couldnt care less. Crap product and service, who disagrees? :2in1:

P.S. Oh yeh forgot to mention the customers A-Class Mercedes it screwed up while reading in circuit exactly as written in there instruction manual. BEWARE of this product guys, it destroys the car. And its not even a clone either so I cant blame that.

I only use mine for BMW EWS and it's very good at that.

I'm disappointed with the lack of decent development for this machine though.
Also the documentation is very poorly written and hard to understand.

The support is very bad, I recently emailed them about an issue I was having and never heard back from them.

I wish I had gone down the AVDI track.

Hello
gtmech is right. This is a great shame for this company that could not provide online technical support to their customers.
In fact you will write and they will never respond.
I owner of a CARPROG that i bought to address the problem of Lost key on TOYOTA.But it has never program a single vehicle.Worst is that apart of the 4C transponder this tool is not able to read any other type of transponder, not able to read the Motorola MCU,not able to program key on MB.
Truly speaking Chinese clone tool is far better than product from this company so be aware.

regards

For MB I think the best is tango key programmer which is an upgrade of the gambit which i currently use and its very effective.
For reading of the MCU's I remove them cos am yet to get a hang of reading incircuit with my UPA. if anybody has info on that pls share.

i have had carprog for a long time does airbags very well reads vw dash and kessy opel pincode read and ecu reset all good but when it comes to the mercedes let down. for a class it will only do 1 type of mcu which i have only come across once. it will read the others in curcuit but it does not make the transponder logic correctly. i have spoken to code card which took a long time to get a response and there awnser was the dump is diferent try not to use. took about 2 weeks to get that response. 5 waisted transponder later i had to turn customer down, at that time i had 2 cars in the shop and ecu set i wanted a key for . so for me mercedes software not worth buying.
i managed to do 2 ml keys very good but since my update i cannot get respons from any ml i try.
its a shame could be a good tool but it is let down buy the support. if you try on the forum to get reply you will be waiting a long time!!! im still waiting from last year.

So far the only MCU for the A-Class I have come across is the 1D69J and the OD69J. Mercedes are definitely a bit of a problem when it comes to keys.

Unsolder chip and read with ETL, ETL will not damage or erase the chip 100%, i have read heaps of them and it works flawlessly everytime. Tag key tool will program the transponder "apparently" but until i get this car working i cant confirm the chip has been programmed successfully and the problems i am experiencing with this Tag Key Tool so far doesnt allow me to recommend it. Note this only works for A168, NOT A169, if anyone knows a solution for A169 please share.

How many Mercedes can Abrites actually do by OBD? Only the ones you have tested and have successfully worked 100%, not what they say it can do..Abrites say the can do all ML Cars through OBD, is this true or not?

I have done W163 ML, but that one have totaly different method of makeing keys by obd. Their manuals are not updated over 6-9 months so dont expect much help from there.

Yes your right, the ML class need the eeprom dump to be modified and re-programmed and the the others like C, A, S class etc do not. The ML is the hardest one to program by removing chip but the easiest one to program through OBD.
So you dont recommend the abrites Mercedes Commander for programming through OBD or you would recommend it? Im not wasting anymore money on products that say they can do everything and then turn out they cant do half of what they say, yes i know thats most products out there today :(

I don`t recommend Abrites Mercedes Commander for key makeing. VAG is great but for MB they are week.

Can you explain more on the reason why you dont recommend it? Does it not program the chips properly for some models of Merc?
Abites is good for VAG Key making you say?
