What you mean just a passthrough device or you want it to work with the abritus commanders??

Because if the chinese cant clone the commanders properly how do you hope to do it?

The tag tool wont allow running of any other software such as VAG ORV as the MAXQ1103 stores what its allowed to run and is protected by the battery (I'm assuming its holding instructions in RAM so if the battery dies or the chip is removed vital data is lost)

Let me tell you that I finally succeed unpacking ABRITES software VAG commander 8.3 :top:, Mercedes commander ...
These softwares are protected with Winlicense packer/Crypter.

Next stop is to make AVDI commanders work with normal CAN and K Line USB cables, and may be Tag key tool.

So i'm trying to bypass HWID check when executing soft :-)

If anyone have the new VAG v10, please share it.

afaik when you removed the battery volatile-ram looses his firmware, so device is just a hardware piece which need to be reloaded with firmware,

software is specific to each device,
