ohh, another member, 13 posts and 24 downloads.
All well and good coming to the UK for work, but you tend to find a lot of people that are imported speak little Inglish, do not want to pay anything, then expect you to drop everything and do it there and then.
Should a few weeks later should the vechile then develop another fault the imported customer then ALWAYS asks if they have to pay again, as they paid last time they came in with there knackered cars, with bright silver of blue 'checker plate' floor mats.
Suggest you try Poland or Iran or somewhere, you might be better of than Ingland.

witchy of course we are worried in case he cuts into our business....a few years ago there was plenty to go around but now its cut throath in this business as everyone is fighting to survive....dont get me wrong competition is a good thing in a viable economy but too much undercutting in these times is no good for anyone.....there is still plenty of work, the only difference is no one has money to pay you!!...before it was 'i dont care how much, just get it done'...now its 'how much?!! cant you do it cheaper?'.

Hi m8, I was thinking of illegally entering Lithuania in the back of a HGV and applying for political asyalum once inside.
Can you tell me,
Will I get a new council flat?
Will I be entitled to ?hundreds in benefits?
Will I be able to get a job, paying me cash in hand?
Do you know anywhere where I can get hold of forged doctuments?
Sorry my Lithuania language is not good!

It's that bad in our area (n/west) for work, nearly all the poles and russians have gone home to better jobs. Even the pikeys don't seem to come round looking for scrap so often

they cant insure big cc vans and road tax on a 2.5l is on average 1100 eurines for the year....if its 3 or more months out of tax and you get stopped its seized!!...also you have to test it before you tax it....a commercial test centre wont test em for private use and the nct (mot) wont test a commercial style vehicle!!...you are not insured if it isnt tested...catch 22 from all angles......now show me a pikey who will fork out a couple of grand to put the correct paperwork on the front of a 10 year old hiace!!!!!!!!!

That's good but bad at the same time, if a pikey DOES manage to legally insuare/tac/nct their van, then by rights can't see no reason to not let them tarmac your drive.
BAD if a private person has a hobby, say surfing, or flying carpets/traveling rugs, model trains etc then they are ~~~~ed for getting their stuff around
are your from north or south?
Thanks

Of course, you will get a flat (read: a small room filled with various insects, animals and other dwellers).
You will get hundreds of Lithuania money (=worth enough to buy a pack of smokes once a month)
Yes, you may pay cash for a job.
The closest forge is in Yrayskaschmabad, 200 lightyears away. You may hold your documentary there.
I hope I was able to help you, dear soon to be illegal immigrant to wild east block :D

have you source for this darren? someone told me the situation was that if you had private tax the "no way to test" was a loophole that allowed you to drive untested, i've often been stopped and never once asked for a cert, i thought it was cause of the private tax. (small van though, if that makes a diff) then again it could be just guards that dont give a sh1t. would be nice to know either way in case i meet a cnut.
EDIT
This is a bit off topic but some people cant afford loo roll not to mind insurance lol

situation with regards to taxing a van in ireland is down to the local authority....my local..laois co.co.....wont tax a van privately unless it is tested and insured privately....and wont tax a van commercialy unless you are registered and insured commercialy...you cant pop down to the shop for milk then as it is classed as private use...i think a change is in the pipeline as they are losing a lot of revenue because of this...although the ammount of new chicken farmers registering for a flock number has increased 20 fold!!!!

i was private taxed up to last year on commercial insurance so my coco must have no prob. unfortunately since fine fail managed to dry up most of my work they lose private van tax on top of income tax and vat.(and excise, getting import tobacco and beer, f()ck em)
Last time i was stopped i told the guard no work, couldnt afford, would get when things pick up and he told me "do that so, go on", he mustnt like his wage cuts either, lol
