Hi mates
I have a X Reg Renault Megane 1.9 dTi
It stopped at the lights and would not start now; I tried to start by spraying easy start it fires but the engine will not run. When I lose the injector pump pipe the diesel is coming when I crank the engine, it looks the immo is not the issue.
The glow plugs fine, diesel coming to injectors, timing belt ok, engine diagnose no fault code registered, can some 1 unlock the mystery were I should be looking next. Any help much appreciate.

I have checked all that you have indicated, the only thing I just remembered my mate could have put petrol in diesel, although he has denial over the telephone but the only thing I could think off at the movement.

Hi mates sorted, I have to come back to reveal to you that I have got the car started, the problem was the relay called the Engine Control Relay it was deactivated, we put a new relay and the baby is now talking like a man words.

Hi

If the Engine Control Relay was faulty then How did you get the Communication with Engine ECU when you diagnosed it :questionmark:

And also by luck you did get the communication then the relay fault code must have been registered there :hmmmm2:

YES THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION, THOUGHT ABOUT THAT WHEN SEE IT, BUT WAS IN A RUSH (AS NORMALL)

MEANT TO SAY, IF YOU CRACK OFF INJECTOR NOW RUNNING WILL BE A FOUNTAIN FOR FURTURE REFERENCE

GUESSING IT'S AN ADVANCE/RETARD ECU THAT YOU 'SPOKE' TO AND A BASIC IMMO ON DIESEL PUMP

*THINK* MIGHT START WITH NO ECU PLUGGED IN, BE JUST ON FULL ADVANCE

Hi mates same problem this time towed by RAC???

I have a X Reg Renault Megane 1.9 dTi

Checked fuel coming, checked timing good.
Checked the relays all fine, I think it must have been wiring broken some way causing the crankshaft sensor not to function that?s why last time I might have touched the wire and car started.

Engine diagnoses showing crank sensor.
I have replaced twice with new ones still showing crank sensor.

Your help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Checked immo info this afternoon with PC Max
Came up with two fault code.

1. CODE: DF055
Coded line circuit open circuit or short circuit to earth memory
2. DF054
Ring supply short circuit to +12V memory

When I deleted these fault code they never came back

Any way I fitted second hand fuel injector pump and fuel is coming to pipes but the car will not start.

I fitted another original crank sensor now code not showing.

When I keep spraying easy start the engine keep running fine when stop spraying the engine stop.

I have come to a stage that if I have to spend another day on it I will be begging money to pay rent for my garage.

Any Renault expert can point me to the right direction.

Please help, thanks for your time.

bit weird, as it runs on easy start, but you have fuel to the injectors, so either 4 ~~~~ed injectors, or the pump timing is WAY out, or none of above, air leak.

Fuel should be like a fountain when you crack injector off

Had an escort van, where DFM got timing out by a nats knacker, ran like shit, smokes (whit), exhaust gas hotter than Tracy Barlow

Suggest, you 'just' crack off all 4 injectors, get some spotty 16 yo off the street, to keep cranking and don't stop until you hear someone shout 'fire'

pump the pumper if it has one on the fuel, then as you see fuel coming out of the injector nuts, tighten them in that order they piss out, keep cranking, see if it helps.

the injector pipes MUST be the same length otherwise causes problems

I suspected it could be the injectors so I changed the first one at ?120.00 which is electronically connected with the ecu the last three are mechanical I did not change;
I will have the last three tested tomorrow.

Thanks for your time mate.

You've got wrong picture!
That's common rail injector on it!

I agree with Meaty. Just check all these things.
May be you can download one of these test pumps from ebay. They are not too expensive and pretty helpful on these old engines. diesel injector tester | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1311&_nkw=diesel+injector+tester&_sacat=See-All-Categories)

I would go for that BOSCH one GENUINE BOSCH DIESEL INJECTOR POP TESTER EFEP60 | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-BOSCH-DIESEL-INJECTOR-POP-TESTER-EFEP60-/370192177818?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item56312c5a9a)
That price difference is not big and in any case this will be better than Chinese or Indian stuff. Adapters you can make just from old fuel injectors pipes.
I have one from MonarkDiesel...it's quite old thing, but still working for me.
There is only one small thing about all this. These old injection systems becoming rare in our days. So not much use for test pump.
Cheers!
