I have corroded ews3 so if i read 0d46j with xprog then write that file to another used ews will it be ok ?
Will the info to match up with engine ecu be in dump and also will the ews need to be re-aligned with ecu.
Original problem was no starter motor but if starter was shorted, engine ran ok.
Thanks

if you read the mcu and put in new immo should work ok.
if you still have the same problem you need to check coding for auto or manual. check live data in ews as it may not be getting the correct signal from gear position switch or clutch pedal if coded.

I would of thought the gearbox coding would be in the dump from the corroded ews, I was worried that the 'engine ecu id matching with ews id' info might not be in the eprom part of the 0d46j !

Does anyone know what the square elmos chip does and if it carries any car specific info?

All data in 0D46J. Copy to another EWS and you will be fine.

Good luck
