View Full Version : B1701 Incorrect enable code engine management

Trying to fix this 1999 Mercedes A-Class that the CarProg destroyed. This is the code the MB Star is giving me and of course START ERROR on the dashboard keeps flashing, obviously related. Ok so this code I am getting is because ive installed secondhand DAS box into the car and they obviously need synching. (Yes I have made a new key to the new DAS Box, No NOT with CarProg)

Question 1. Is it possible to synch secondhand one to cars original ECU?
Question 2. How do you do it?

The MB Star is saying you can only use a Brand New DAS Box, but everything says that and 9 times out of 10 theres a way around it. Have any of you guys tried this trick and would be able to share your experience? Thanks a million guys :burnout:

imho you must to make ecu as virgin and reprogram with SD to immobox.

remove engine ecu read the flash and make virgin . put it back on code with star. before you do this read coding from ecu and make a note so you can put the same back.
what did you use to make transponder!

What are you using to virginise it?
I used Tag Key Tool for transponder

read flash with elnec universal prog..

What chip am I looking for in the ECU mate?
I dont have elnec but I have ETL which is bound to read it as it reads everything I give it without fail. thanks buddy

A classa is 29F200BB. Its must read by universal prog.
Etl can't.

Just replace Hc05 from original immo box to second immo box

it doesnt work mate, tried it 3 times already. Mercedes are way more complex then the BMW's, i wish I didnt have to work on Mercs sometimes but im getting more and more of them through the doors everyday, ahh
