Hello Everyone.
I have bin running a few differend virtual XP mode installations successfully on varios Notebooks without physical com port. I Used a usb to com port bridge with no issues.
No I am running a XP mode VM on a 64bit Win 7 laptop and cannot get the pysical com port to work. The laptop is Dell Lat. E5500. The guest machine com 2 is mapped to com 1 on the host machine and a com port stress test tool sends and receives info form the multiplexer. Only SDS and Star Utillies can not find the com port and connect. Connecting with the Prolific usb to com bridge is working fine there too.
Still would like to get the physical com port to work.
Has anyone worked with this kind of setup and got it to work?
