heres how ya can improve your signal for 20 euro
first make sure dongle can support an external antenna
yal need this to connect to dongle may vary for some dongles but will fit most $2.20 - RP-SMA FEMALE to CRC9 Adapter Cable (15CM-Length) - Cables & Adapters (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/rp-sma-female-to-crc9-adapter-cable-15cm-length-55723)
if your dongle doesnt support an external antenna ya can use this http://www.solwise.co.uk/3g-datacard-to-antenna-adapters-adpt-026.htm
ya can probably find cheaper ones if ya look
heres one http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=300423880478&Category=61816&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2
then this cable upto antenna
10 m $9.30 - Wi-Fi Antenna RP-SMA M-F RG178 Hign Frequence Extension Cable (10M-Length) - Networking (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/wi-fi-antenna-rp-sma-m-f-rg178-hign-frequence-extension-cable-10m-length-39664)
6m $6.41 - Wi-Fi Antenna RP-SMA M-F Connector Extension Cable (6.0M-Length) - Networking (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/wi-fi-antenna-rp-sma-m-f-connector-extension-cable-6-0m-length-34651)
3m http://www.dealextreme.com/p/wi-fi-antenna-rp-sma-m-f-connector-extension-cable-3m-length-34650
and antennas theres 2 to choose from either will do
$15.80 - 2.4GHz 16dBi Directional High Gain 16-Unit Antenna for Wifi/Wireless Network (RP-SMA) - Networking (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-4ghz-16dbi-directional-high-gain-16-unit-antenna-for-wifi-wireless-network-rp-sma-33016)
$21.51 - 2.4GHz 100W 18dBi Directional High Gain 18-Unit Antenna for Wifi/Wireless Network (SMA) - Networking (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-4ghz-100w-18dbi-directional-high-gain-18-unit-antenna-for-wifi-wireless-network-sma-34759)
just point antenna at wherever the nearest mast to your house is for better signal
try keep the cables as short as possible as the longer they are the more signal loss
this will also work if ya use a wifi card for picking up wireless networks from other areas
have a read here it will help a bit
