I have coming in from a local garage a fto which has no spark. The garage have changed the cam sensor, crank sensor, leads and even tried a different ecu. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be before i jump into it tomorrow. Any common issues. I have not worked on many of these.

It looks like its got a separate power transistor between ECU and coil pack,
A1 power tranny
X2 engine speed connector
T1 coil pack
P1 Tachometer
X1 ecu

Sure you do it on purpose - read my mind.
Too lasy to read your diagramme but it at M-H-M we had one in, guy decided to see what happned if he drove it under the back of a lorry, it stopped.
Took us *HOURS* to figure out, this was in the days BEFORE DK - so maybee it wasn't at M-H-M - possability hallucinated? :canabis::stupid:
it has four wires, pos in, pos out earth and one to the rev counter who lives down the lane.
It's mounted under the swirly thing (think)

Meaty, i'd love to be able to read YOUR mind, If I could do that I wouldnt be fixing cars (or trying to fix them) I'd be a top London shrink !!!!

check all engine earth points, some looms have earth points (ring terminals) in more places than just one, if u have broken earth on the ignition side/ crankshaft sensor side u will lose the spark or very weak spark.
Also i think these run a ECU relay, worth checking it

*THINK* This is on the passenger side of the transmission tunnell
unless getting confused with G.t.o / 3000 GT :puke::puke::puke:

its on the right hand side of engine about half way down, its also known as ingition failure sensor, its located on a metal plate, it supplys the ecu and fuel pump with power.

Im with meathead. Almost every fto ive worked on has been a cat 1 alarm or faulty door locking motors. Love doing alarms on these. Will check it out tomorrow and see whats what or whats not.

you found that BEAUTIFUL black/white behind the glove box - live on ign and crank - kills engine as well - awesome job - can't remember about the boot wire though! :santaclaus:

Im sure boot wire had to be run to the light as it was the one wire you couldnt pick up above the drivers kick panel. Bloody japs must have run out of cable so fed the light directly from the switch and forgot about a dash warning light for boot ajar.

Right i had this car in today. No feed getting to the black/white wire at the coils. If i fed it 12 volts i would get a spark. However the spark on the right hand coil is very weak and the ignition coil got fairly hot when the car was left running for a couple of minutes. I have swapped coils around and the spark on the rest is fine just this one. I have also traced the black/white wire back and it goes to the throttle body. This has another black/white which goes 12volt with ignition and then this black/white which feeds the ignition coils.the one feeding the coils does not go live with ignition. So i am suspecting this module may be at fault. Still does not explain the coil getting hot. Any ideas fellow dk ers.
