NOTE: This procedure is performed only if the procedure described in the user manual of the car does not work!

Tested on 140 hp 2.0 TDI engine.

Put the ignition, engine running water over 50 degrees (see Temperature Measuring Blocks channel 002, field no. 4)

DPF values to follow in Measuring Blocks channel 075, box no. 3. If the load value is above specs (from box No. 2), the filter must be replaced, otherwise it can crack during regeneration.

Consumers attach electrical and mechanical engine can be started (incalizre seats, climate, lighting, etc etc)

EGT's (exhaust gas turbine AHEAD) to be above 700 ? C before starting the test.

So if you wanted everything active....
0023x0x where x is the value of the original coding, let's say it was set there from the factory.

To remove seat belt warning, just subtract the 02.... so it would now be:
0021x0x

On our 2004 Touareg V8, we had the following options enabled from the factory:
65536 + 32768 + 4096 + 2048 + 1024 + 128 + 64 + 16 + 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 0105695
To add or remove a function, add or subtract the Decimal value for that option.
11-Engine 2: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine. This is only applicable to V10 TDI engines.
15-Airbags: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.
Important Note: Please do NOT run Output Tests (function 03) on your Airbag Controller!
No, it won't deploy your airbags. But it MAY render the vehicle undrivable. Running Output Tests is supposed to make the airbag controller generate a simulated crash signal to the rest of the systems in the vehicle so that unlocks itself and shuts various things OFF. Unfortunately, one of the things it shuts off in the Touareg is the power supply to the Engine Control Module. Two things are needed (confirmed by a dealer tech who was brave enough to run Output Tests on an Airbag Module):
1. Clear "Crash Data" code from the DTC Screen in 25 - Immobilizer.

2. Reset the yellow Circuit breaker under driver's seat. The circuit breaker should be yellow and should be visible/accessible if you remove the carpeted "step" trim panel at the front of the seat (an operation requiring some dexterity, but no tools).
Beginning with Beta 310.0, VAG-COM will pop up a warning if you try to run Output Tests on the Airbag Controller.
16-Steering Wheel: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.

17-Instruments: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.
Recoding for chime and warning lamp preferences:
[Select]
[17-Instruments]
[Recode - 07]
Write down the existing 7-digit Soft. Coding for future reference.
Enter the new code from below
[Do It!]
Look at the existing 7-digit Soft. Coding. Look at the fourth digit in the coding. Add the values for the options together to get the correct coding.
0 - No available equipment
+1 - Brakepad wear sensor warning active
+2 - Seatbelt warning active
+4 - Washer fluid level warning active.
Look at the fifth digit in the coding (Market version):
1 - "Europe" (No Navigation system acceptance screen, also see 56-Radio for other changes)
2 - "USA" 12 hour clock (Navigation system acceptance screen)
3 - "Canada"
4 - "UK"
Example: If you have all of the above warnings active and your car is set to USA (and your factory Soft. Coding is 0007231), if you would like to remove the seatbelt warning, subtract 2 from the fourth digit to make the coding 0005231. If you would like to keep the seatbelt warning, but remove the Navigation acceptance screen, then change the fifth digit from 2 to 1 to make the coding 0007131. If you'd like to remove both the seatbelt warning and the Navigation acceptance screen subtract 2 from the fourth digit and change the fifth digit from 2 to 1 to make the coding 0005131.
19-CAN Gateway: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.

1C-Level Sensing: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
VAG-COM works fine.

22-All Wheel Drive: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.
25-Immobilizer: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.
29-Left Light: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.

34-Level Control: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
VAG-COM works fine.
See our page on Touareg Suspension Level Control Calibration

36-Driver's Seat: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
VAG-COM works fine.

37-Navigation: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
VAG-COM works fine.

39-Right Light: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
VAG-COM works fine.

46-Central Convenience
VAG-COM works fine.

47-Sound System
VAG-COM works fine.

56-Radio: -- KWP-2000
VAG-COM works fine.
Important Note: If you have recoded 17-Instruments from USA to Europe, this changes the way the Radio operates. Note that Europe uses different specs for their radio compared to North America.
FM:
FM frequencies in Europe are spaced .1MHz apart, compared to .2MHz in North America. This causes no problems in using a Nav Plus in North America, it just means you can tune into some frequencies (such as 92.2) which don't exist here. Since it can tune into all the North American FM frequencies that do exist, it works fine.

AM:
AM frequencies in Europe are spaced 9kHz apart, compared to 10kHz in North America. Europe also does not have AM Stereo, so the Nav Plus does not support it. This DOES cause a problem. It means you can only get "close" to some stations when trying to tune them in. It may sound a bit like an AM tuner when you turn the knob just off station, but if you are an AM audiophile, this may be an issue for you. If there is a particular AM station you like to listen to, you can calculate if the Nav Plus will get close in frequency. Simply start at 531kHz, then add 9 kHz until you get close. For example, if you have a favorite station at 660Khz, the closest you can get is 657kHz. The most a station will be out by is 4kHz.
65-Tire Pressure Monitor: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
VAG-COM works fine.

68-Wipers
VAG-COM works fine.

6E-Control Head Roof: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
VAG-COM works fine.
To turn console compass on all the time:
[Select]
[6E-Ctrl Head Roof]
[Adaptation - 10]
Channel 01
[Read]
Write down the existing value and enter "00" as a new value.
[Test]
[Save]
69-Trailer Control: -- KWP-2000 (If equipped)
Not yet tested, but VAG-COM should work fine.

I don't think there is a procedure for that, it's going to be a case of adding resistors to load the circuit so the system then see's a higher resistance.

I could be wrong but, I didn't think the 2005 A4 came with 'original' LED lights, hence your light warning issue.
