I would like to ask if I copy and decompress DVDs on the external drive. What should I do in the SIS ? How and where do I set the path?

Thanks.

Good question, if you make vitual cds of each one and copy them to the external hd when sis askes for a disk go to the external hd and insert the vcd in to your vcd drive and away you go. SIS will tell you what drive to put the vcd in. Why do so many people like to try to path the info, it was designed to be run of cds, one at a time, not with a bunch of paths. Ths simpler the better. I run mine from vcds. I just insert the vcd in the drive when i need it, SIS will tell you what cd you need at that time. And the drive it wants it in.

Sorry. It must work. I saw it with my own eyes. But I did not have enough time to find out how it works. DVD on an external drive has been unpacked. Service technician lent me only external HD. http://img848.imageshack.us/i/54277163.jpg/

yes you can unzip the entire contents of the external HD DVD drive and then the path to the folders for each DVD.

I recommend that you copy all the disks of SIS in a partition on your hard drive or portable hard drive.
Then go to Start, Programs, and then to system configuration.
Prior to all this the system deve be completely closed.
Then enter the path where copies of the discs.
For example:
D: \ CATERPILLAR \ Disc 1
D: \ CATERPILLAR \ Disk 2 etc.
so for each disk, so no DVD nesecitamos the system.
You'll notice the difference in reading speed

Another way is usign iso program... convert each dvd of sis into isofile... put them in drive external... and each time sis ask for a disc #... go to iso and mount this file to the drive that you configure in sis...drive d,e...

i have all 10 dvds as a .iso files and all 10 inserted in virtual drives at the same time. (we use it all the time)

so, you dont need to decompress it at all. keep it in virtual cd format and use like that.

in sis configuration you just put all your drives in "data locations:" and dont have to worry about it anymore

i use Virtual CD for that
