Converting recordings on the fly

I believe im right in saying that the dreambox will only record in .ts format. Are there are programs out there which will stream to pc and convert on the fly to a different format such as .avi or. mkv?

I dunno about on fly conversion.. what i do is download the recorded .TS files to my laptop and use FreeMake convertor, which is awesome totally free video convertor

Yeah, i've used a few covertors but they really take ages to convert

Actually, that program which you linked me to coverts stuff 4x faster than anything ive tried. thanks very much

it is very fast and flexable to all types of formats
