DKers..

The Dreambox is a very versatile machine and with the right sort of inputs you too can watch all 380 live English Premiere League games per season..

I say this with a caveat, all 380 are available, but it depends on your dish size and location..!

Nilesat (http://www.lyngsat.com/nile.html) has all 380 games live via the Showtime Arabia network.. however if you live in the North of the UK you will need a 2.4m+ dish (55N and above forget it), which is bigger than the average..! If you live in the south of the UK (south of 51N) you will get away with a 1.8m.. If you are lucky enough to live in Spain.. a 1m will do you..!

However a 1m dish will get you all the Big 4's games.. every game.. LIVE in the UK
Even a Sky sized minidish will get you Hotbird (http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html) and / or (depending on number of LNB's or monoblock) Astra (http://www.lyngsat.com/astra19.html) where you can find loads of games..

First of all your going to need to get some shares on you DB.. do that.. you dont need a local card there are a few forums out there that have 'Free Exchange' sections.. just type in card sharing into Google and you will see plenty of forums

I have shares from across Europe, i don't have a local card either.. (PLEASE DONT PM ME FOR INFO...I WONT ANSWER)

I have been watching live EPL, FA Cup, League Cup & UCL for 3 years now outside of Sky.. All available on European TV

Dont just buy a DB for Sky TV.. The football they and Setanta show is pitiful..

Get yourself a motorised dish setup, a Dreambox, do a bit of reading, do a bit of swapping, check out LJ's Live On Sat (http://liveonsat.com/08_foot_epl_only.php?start_dd=12&start_mm=12&start_yyyy=2008&end_dd=01&end_mm=01&end_yyyy=2009) and have yourself a very Merry Christmas and New Year with 3pm kick off's a plenty

Hi, opsmonkey... thats something like what im planning for... but when you say about a Sly minidish dish being used for a small setup like that, thats my only hope

But thing is even though I have the bigger Zone2 minidish Im in N.Ireland.. is that to far north to pick up anything

Thinking about a d500s and that 40 quid motor from maplins.... should only set me back 100ish all in and even if it got me 3 sats and be able to return to 28.2E, then thats still a result for me

Does anyone know if what Im trying to do is just pointless and Im a moron for thinking itd work, then just post and tell me that please and any other info what so ever on the situation working or why it wont work will be appreciated

My Sly has been redunant for 6 years since I got cable and Im trying to get any use from the dish what so ever(I cant put a big dish cos its out my front)....Id even pay for a good CS setup if it works.... and even if it doesnt work I can salvage the bought parts for a bigger setup If I move or something

I dont know which box is best as i only have a Technomate but all 500s now are clones...to cardshare you need to connect your receiver to your router and input the server settings with the correct image..thats all i know as i dont know much about them.. Make a new thread so we dont lose the topic and it might catch the eye of curious123 he knows his stuff.

I only get digitv at 1west but thats good enough although its going soon... Make sure you buy a s version and not a c..the s means satellite and c means cable so be careful...that 500c wont work but a clone 500s will do fine but just post a visitor message to curious123 with a link to this thread.. If can help you in more detail.

Dreambox, DreamBox 500S, Dream Box 500S, Dream Box Satellite, Dreambox 500, DM50 (http://www.dvbseller.com/product_info.php?currency=GBP&products_id=27&language=en&osCsid=2d5b1eeec6c635b27262f587354adafc)

monkey are you saying that if i connect a db500s to a normal sky dish i can pick up hotbird and astra? how would this work?(my missus is umming and aring over a possible 1m dish)

ta,

.: JaCkPoT :.
15th December, 2008, 03:36 PM
the sky dish is facing 28.2 and 28.5e.... astra1 is at 19.2 east and hotbird7/8 is at 13easy... you willneed to re align or buy that 1m dish.....

dctyper
15th December, 2008, 03:40 PM

dctyper
15th December, 2008, 10:16 PM
so using my little sky dish i could get all these

Hot Bird 6/7A/8 at 13.0?E - LyngSat (http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html)

and these

The channels broadcasting from Astra 2D (http://www.digitalsat.co.uk/2dchannels.html)

I'd go for a 1m dish and a motor if you can more channel's than you can shake a stick at.
I asked the same thing weeks back and with the help of these guys glad I took there advice and went for the above.

You can only view one sat... Sky dishes need adaptors for monoblocs to work... Just buy a motor and 90cm dish

dctyper
16th December, 2008, 02:44 PM
what is one sat?

opsmonkey
16th December, 2008, 07:00 PM
you will only view 28.8E if you dont move your dish..

if you move your dish to 19e you will get Astra 19E
if you move your dish to 13e you will get Hotbird 13E

if you can bodge a monoblock onto your sky dish you will get both if you allign to Hotbird 13E..

if you have no clue about what im on about or how to get different satellites.. get yourself a motorised dish (1m) and get it installed by a pro..

best of luck
