There are thousand chinese clones of CA2 in China. Or you can simply buy CA3.

ah ok. CA3 isn't an option as I decode the serial data between the PC and CA2. USB is to hard for the moment hah.

Hello,
how do these Chinese clone CA2's work?
Any feed back?
Are they worth their price?

The noregon rp1210 will only work on the ATA link (Trucks), it will not work on CAT machines CDL link.
Caterpillar has not shared the CDL protocol with anyone, so you will have to use their interface to communicate with their machines.
I am not sure about the chinese adapter, maybe someone will share their opinion/experience.

Not sure your reasons on wanting a Com II as the Com III is the best unit.. Well it is now they fixed the firmware and Cable.
The Com III also Does the Cummins so its a a bonus.
The other after market stuff doesn't to CDL yet the Com 3 does it all.

I've e-mailed a chinese seller about the CAIII adapter and he told right away that is a copy. This guys are alright but...
How can you tell a difference between a genuine CAT adapter and a copy? And my other question... Is a copy a good tool?

Thanks

The copy only outside looks like CA3, but inside it is CA2 and it uses CA2 driver too. So the CA3 copy is far away from original.
