Mates i think i have a small problem.
i was not able to change milleage on the last 3 vw polo motometer dashes (old type before 98)

I a tried to change milleage with tachocable but does not work.

My TU does diagnostic cars, it does eeproms (i already repalced 74HC541).

i already checked the cable and tried a brand new cable.
i soldered the 3 cables on the back of the dash also no help.

Maybe some one had this proble before or some one have a solution for this problem.

Before '98? These dash can be done only by eeprom m8, not by OBD

Thanks for your reply i think you did not understand me well.
Its for Motometer dash before 98 but those can be done with dashcable (the mb and vw dash cable).
I did not mean throug the diagnostic port.

Pls check attachment

Any other help would be apreciated.

as LUPU said , better to do it external by removing eprom and your are safe (good dump reading and good backup in case of problem)

Yes i agree with you but its a hell of a yob disassemble the dash and remove the 2 display, if it should work with tacho cable why disassemble the dash and loose one hour instead of 5 minutes.

i agree those dashes can be a b**ch
but the best way to do it is for you to take 10
minutes to desolder the lcd connect it with
the clip if i remember right its a 93c46 chip
and then take another 10 minutes to resolder the lcd
and be done with it.
