ps update your channel list via blade online section which can be found in the menu>settings-astra 28.2e for the uk section this will get your 7day epg workin. DO AN EPG UPDATE AFTER!!
the update does NOT affect any existing csline setting you may have so its safe to install even if you dont have the 9991 menu password.

i have been looking into the satellite side for a while because i am sick of cable side i like the blade media 7000hd is it used plug and play by that i mean plug the dish in scan for channels and get sly sports and movies etc any help will be a big help

The box is spot on , using CCCam and 3rd party firmware, you can't go wrong on that
bear in mind it is 3D ready box meaning if you have 3D ready TV , you are able to watch all 3D channels as well

streaming from your own computer to the box, means no need for hard disc or media player to watch whatever you want

for those who are wondering I think I am pretty much satisfied with the box

i gotta say after messing about with this for nearly 5 hours if u are using a diseqc switch for 13 east and 28 east when i scanned hotbird it found hardly anything and when i installed hotbird 7 day epg it said it was moving to 13 east.
think whoever sorted this has a badly aligned dish, so i went back to 119p f/w 7 day epg not that impressive on sly uk

I'm on a fixed mini dish on 28e and 7-day epg seems to be working fine so far...only tried it for about 1/2 hour so far but has picked up most channels for 7 days. Very impressive.

What I did was update new channel lkist after firmware update using bladeonline menu option under settings.

Then I selected ok, followed by yellow button for epg update. This didn't seem to work, so I tried going on the IEPG data (radio) audio channel and did an update while on that channel leaving it for a minute or two. Then when I checked the channels, the 7-day epg had appeared. Not sure if it was due to the radio channel but it defo works. I used that radio channel because I know this box is almost identical to the technomate 5402 box which also requires using that channel for the 7-day epg.

One thing I would love is a better interface for the EPG, something similar to the VU+ EPG 7 day display would be sweet.

Anyway, so far so good, will keep testing.

will this version definitely give us 7 day epg without screwing up our setups...bit dubious as this is the first unofficial update since 119 also win rar reports unexpected end of archive on downloading file...is it ok to use?

As already mentioned by others, you will not need to reinstall the csinfo.txt file. But all other settings will be reset as far as I'm aware. Not sure about the channel list, as I just downloaded the latest one for 28e as soon as box restarted after firmware update. Another thing to note is that the epg disappears after a restart, so avoid putting box in standby if you want to keep epg or you will need to update on startup - takes 1 minute anyway.

7 day epg works for sly uk. Description not there but titles are, which is very good for a box in this price range.

Ps. You will need to redownload the file if winrar is giving you that error. Sounds like the download was corrupted or quit early. Redownload it from this thread if that still give you that error try google search with blade 7000 122p firmware. If that fails check disk space on pc or try using a different browser, firefox, chrome, opera, ie, safari

just downloaded to latest firmware onto a usb then put it into the back of the box whent to menu download clicked on it then went back to to channel i req but no 7 day epg just now and next am i doing somthing wrong?

You do not need to worry, your setting will not be compromised by updating the firmware.

And if your a little worried, you could always save them by doing the following:
Enter 9 9 9 1 and click the Group button to save your clines.

I've done a loads of background research on the Blade myself and I'm planning to get it soon - it is a good box and superb value for money. I've never heard of any rebooting problems regarding the Blade as of yet.

the blade has no booting problems at all and is in a different league to the openbox you have a very good laid out tv guide with 7 days

also very easy to record with onto ext h drive and picture quality is outstanding in sd and hd and the box has all channel lists in the menu to download for your area and is updated regulary

once flashed with the latest patched firmware its ten mins max till you have it up and running channels sorted and( line in if you are going down that road)

i had my blade 7000s hd for a 1 year now, has 7 days epg, picture and all round quality is excellent. has no rebooting faults.

i also have a openbox s11 and a kryptview.

GO FOR THE BLADE M8, its pricey but well worth it

I am new to this ..Which firmware is best so that I dont lose my CCline info as I dont have the pin number to backup it.

ive never lost my line whenever ive updated the box with new firmware. Only if you reset the box would you lose it, but if you don't want to risk it then don't update the firmware.

By the way this is the old firmware the latest one is 5/10/2011
