What can happen is sky box defaults to incorrect tp maybe this was what they meant.
What error code shows?

Well the Sky set up what i am talking about is a mate at work, so he doesnt have the joys of other boxes?? but in total he has three sky boxes all saying no signal, and now he has just told me sky said it could be a fault which the dish!! but thats less then a year old.. do you think he should get some cable off me and a few f-connetors and give that a go?? but all cables having water in is a bit far fetched!!

I would nip round with another workingreceiver, just set up on 28.2e and see if it gets a signal.
If not can only be lnb or cable.
Or get him to bring his receiver to you.
Sounds like cable possibly water ingress.
If its a quad lnb not all ports would go at same time.

Just to add, dishes only go out of line not faulty.
Try one of your reeivers round there, check dishpointer to see if it's moved.

I've said that to him i'm just quoting what the sky repaire team said to him, also he did say he couldn't even move the dish it was that well fixed!!
