rover 75 transponder

hi guys, does anyone have any info with regards to transponder programming or cloning for these cars?
I understand the chip is a ID73 transponder.
I need to know where the immo info is stored and what equipment i would need to produce a transponder for this car.I can program the remote part no problem (with barcode) but the immo system is giving me grief!
And is it possible to clone this chip if you have working key?

hi mate the rover car like the bmw have ews
you can find the ews under the steering you can read the mcu with xprog-m or with omega

first you open the ews then read the MC68HC11EA9 (0D47J) with any programer like zed-prog ,omega, x-prog
then you can zed-bull or tango or any bmw key programer to add data to key
-what you have ,ic programer and key programer

i have t300 mvp sbb, various eeprom readers but no zed bull.
I am going to order clone zed bull today,.
Do you have experience of the ews reader via kline-no need to de solder? does it work good?

xprog m can read ews MC68HC11EA9/0D47J by k-line
omega can read ews MC68HC11EA9/0D47J by direct socket without desoldering but if MC68HC11EA9/2D47J you must desoldering the mcu or the mcu can delete

zed-bull clone with IEA software can do that .

A cheap programmer to write the transponder chip is Gambit clone.Can do rover 75.

as far as understand two types of zedbull clone - one is the
'childs toy' looks the same, but when you pull the string on the back it says 'i love you long time' in chinese - shit waste of money.

the clone with IEA software is a 'genuine copy' - looks the same, tastes the same, walks the walk, talks the talk, but if you try to get orignal updates, you get some bloke chashing you on a bull.

Make certain when you buy Zedbull Clone that it is the one with IEA software version 5.02 or higher.
Mine came with Version 5.00 , Bought for 200 usd. (Supplier did not even know how to switch it on when i asked what version soft was on it . Got it and no wonder he could not switch it on as the power supply was full of water(Tsunami ex stock) )

For the price i took the chance and ordered it anyway.

You get clone that does not have IEA soft on it .(Do not buy it)

Hi yes, my zed-bull seems to work, but bearing in mind

1) only 'played' not 'used' seems to work

2) Not got round to connecting to pc yet (it's a virtual com port
but pc it's on has no 'real comport' - xp lite omits them!

3) If you have a problem, and there nobdy else can help, perhaps
you could spam the member of there team on this forum, if could remember his name.

Oh, if you place order, could you advise what transponder chips you buying.

i'm thinking of getting off hickleys or ebay.

Remember i'm an employee at M-H-M so therefore it's out my pocket if i order it, for 'own use'

my boss did mention downloading some chips - t5 for deffo

I think you are still going to need t4 to get the new key to work. Need to do alignment of some sort for rolling coding matching between ews and ecu i think.

This is why i have not tried it yet on a working rover 75.

Maybe modified bmw software might be able to do this .

peirre, Not too fused about the pektron stuff as pretty much got them sorted now.
I went to local scrap yard yesterday and there was a rover 75 with a strange key and separate fob, but all working, so it is poss to do these, just need to try one and post results.

got lock set and ecu set from doner vehicle. I had to buy doner car though (250 quid) but just took the remains to scrap merchant and got me money back!!!! and mg drives like a dream!!

Slightly off topic:
Been playing with pektron scu's again, and ive found that if you load virgin file into 93 66, then, even with no fobs programmed, and no EKA entered, you can use t300 to add fobs straight away!
Car will start after you learn ECU code (also with t300), but all other functions wont work, ie central locking fogs etc.
Just thought its a quick way to get a car started at the side of the road.
