DM800HD Image

i ffd up my box now having to flash it.

it had the gemini project 2 image on it.

i have found a image called merlin excalibur image.

i would like to know if anyone has had any experience of this image and if its any good.

by the way my system crashed because i tried putting crossepg on it. so i dont want gp 2 on it now.

I've not owned a DM800 for over a year now, but my advice is to stick to images from the big boys in the scene such as Nabilosat and PLi, there are many other superb images but until you find your footing I would stick to the big boys as they have superb support.

excalibur is an ok image i used it for a few days kept getting hte dreaded green screen when it downloaded an epg switched to openpli and would never change it now unless i have probs

Hi i had Gemini 5.1 had problems to changed to Peter Pan 2.3 good image also has cccam 2.2.1 installed as default.
Now running EDG Nemesis 2.2 also a good image the good part about this image is that it does not keep restarting E2 everytime you do something and it will tell you when updates are due and the best part is that you do not have to keep flashing a new image everytime (cccam is available through the extra download addon).If your box is a clone you need to look for clone safe images and both the above are available.

open pli, well supported and covers all your needs

Mine works ok EDG Nemesis 2.2 uses crossepg and I am using Rytec source.

i managed to get the said image on and working.

but for the life of me cant get ccam to work. got it installed but when i select it from the blue button, it says starting.....but then when you press blue button again to check....shows none.

any ideas before i ditch this image.

i tried with tar file and manually ftp the files in thier folders and chmod to 755

same thing both ways. :-(

never tried this image... could be that they dont support downloads anymore. Move on... i've uploaded openpli for bootloader 82 today, if you have 82 use that.

82 is currently in development stages... like a beta... so i wouldn't recommend the upgrade YET... until they release the full final release.

Hi using 2.2 on Genuine DM500HD perhaps different for a clone, most images no longer come with CCCAM as default so you need to Google for the 'extra URL' for the EDG Nemesis image, place in etc with DCC, RESTART and you will find the extra addon link.

nothing really changes... it's just a number that increases... i guess sometimes the bootloader is modified slightly hence the increase in numbers.

not exactly true, the bootloader like the driver packs usually contain improvements etc for the box. i was not able to find a change-log for the bl82 or bl83 sets but for example here is the readme for the bl81 files.

In terms of clone bootloaders, they generally allow use of newer official Dream drivers, drivers and images have protection built in so they will only run on official recievers.
Clone bootloaders circumvent the protection so the newer drivers and images can be used.

Currently at this stage, clone bootloaders are not up to date with driver releases so the latest drivers are not compatible with clones until a new clone bootlaoder is released.

This means you cant use newer images or drivers on clones unless they have been patched.

Clone SSL82 for SIM2.01, is not much different from 76D it is a early development release with a modified web interface. Future features are to be added, still not currently compatible with newer unpatched images or drivers.

SSL76D provided compatibility for images such as origianl unpatched images like DreamElite 1.0HD which were using newer drvers at the the time, these drivers were not supported by 76C.

Basically if your running DreamElite Phoenix Edition, with 76C there is no benefit to you upgrading to clone bootlaoder 76D or 82, but there is also no harm in doing so your box will work fine if you upgrade to 76D or 82.
