Renault PIN code reader & Key programer

Just bought a Renault PIN code reader & Programer for Renault Scenic & Megane 1999 to 2003 I have been able to read the PIN on a 2003 Scenic and PIN corresponds to vehicle pass. Also read the PIN on my 2000 Scenic which gives me 3 different PIN's not the same as car pass?

I want to program keys ( 2nd hand fobs) to these 2 cars but can only start the procedure and then get an error message. What am I doing wrong? It also says that the PIN has been entered incorrectly yet on one of the cars the PIN read is correct to car pass :hmmmm2:

I believe 2nd hand fobs need chips renewed and keys precoded before can be reused

cool, where from, how much?

no idea on what computer your using, guess lap top,

1) check vechile voltage well up
2) use laptop on battery only
3) disconnect battery and reconnect
4) PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD UPDATED

Using a laptop with Windows XP the battery doesn't last more than 10 minutes!

I can only get to the PIN code reading stage?

I can over come the imobiliser by tapping the working transponder chip from the 1 fully working key I have to the transponder pick up ring round the ignition barrel. The imobilser light still flashes on the dashboard as normal and I can start the car with the new key blade I have just had cut.

It's the key fob remote I want to re- program to the car. The car only has one external lock on the passengers side! so want to have 2 working remote fobs.

I know Renault key cards can't be programed to other cars

How are you leeching? with such a high post count? I thought that was just people who register get the info they want then you never seem them gain.

3) borrow another laptop
4) try in safe mode

5) i HATE starting new threads, and HATE downloads, the one download i have
was an 'accident' - would never have touched it if had known!

One thing it does do is wipe the programed keys! Have tried it on a 3rd car today which has 2 keys read some where even though you can program up to 4 keys you can only keep 2 in the ECU memory. So thought maybe I could delete 1 of them! then try programing it back in! it deleted both :banghead: and now can't program either back so looks like I'll be buying an imobiliser by-pass unit. Though I would like to have the remote working again

oops, just try unplugging engine ecu/cycle battery/ it says 15 volt, try headlights/heater on/ and/or another car running on jump leads.

have you asked ho-chi-min about it?

Have bought this cable as well .

Not used it yet as i have not a broken car for it yet.

Seems like a possible waste of beer money ,but it might be good just to read the pin code and use other tool to match the keys again..

I also tend to break vehicles easily but i learned my lesson the last time.(Just till the next time)

I had the car on another battery with jump leads and a battery charger as the voltage kept dropping and I kept getting low voltage warnings which then made the program hang.

I read the PIN's on 3 Scenics ( I have 4 of them!) not all of them matched the PIN on the car pass and one had 5 different PIN's. When trying to program keys also kept getting told that the PIN that had been manually enterd was wrong? though the correct one had been read by the program?

It tells you how many keys are programed to the car but you can't see the key numbers

Got it sorted :deal: loaded the software on another computer good call that Meat-Head

and it worked fine. Have managed to re-program the 2 keys & fobs

ok, cool, have you tried on the 'dud' laptop control panel add/remove programmes look for serial converts.

and/or if you have a spare hdd, put that in and reformat fresh windoes

I think the problem was that I down loaded the software from the sellers web site and even though I did unistall before re-loading from the CD that came with the PIN reader some thing must have remained on the HD causing a conflict? Trawled the net and found some one else who had the same happen to them.

So you can re-program previously assinged keys but can't get a 2nd hand fob to work yet? going to try some new transponder chips.

I got one of these ages ago but never used it, now i want to use it i cant find the cable!!

Anyone got a diagram of cable? (prob better off just buying another, cheap as chips now)

Also, any update or success of using 'used' remotes on these models?

Ninj mate it's a PICXXX?XXX chip.

Thjought about trying to copy the data off chip (SCARY) and see if say a vag-com vcds or something cheap lead could be used to copy it onto.

Then try the other cars listed, lol

Then it's a sodding i/r type, not tried it yet, customer gave abuse about been insulted.

so it's at work i'm at home, it's basically looks like a kkl lead, but all black case, no led, LONG usb with prurple bits.

It's basically a i love you long time clone, that only does what you have paid for.

Just playing with it, no need to on the car in hand.

Could someone explain how remote keys works? There is a transponder chip which bypasses the immobilizer. But which part is responsible for door unlocking?

What does this software actually do? Does it only enter the key pin into immobilizer. Or can it program the virgin transponder and/or door unlocking chip(?) ?. Could a used car key with original/cloned transponder fully work?

Mey meat, I think the ting tong twits sent me a dongle for VAG, got a sticker on saying opel, vag, renault pin reader, think they set this one up for vag, as that is all it works on.

tried it on 4 laptops, all got dot net stuff on but same result :(

Got no other kit for pin reading on this range so i think ill have to buy another (3rd bloody one now).

Might look for ori one if price is right :bootyshake:

i have the same problem and i install the programme in win 7 and works ok.maybe must instal all net framewrok from begin v1 v2 v3 v4
and you must virgin the uch and put the old keys or new keys in old uch or make virgin the keys but i don t know how make virgin the keys
