How to pull key programming PIN, Jetta 2000, diesel?
This is diesel EDC15 Jetta 2000 year. I have K-line and CAN pin special functions.
I could not get the login read today??
What special function is required and what module the PIN is suppose to be read from?
Thanks

With which tool did you try to read pin?
Read edc 15 eeprom and /or dash and post the dumps.

I used avdi with k-line PIN authorization, SBB 32, T300.
Maybe it was locked out cause i did turn igition with new key.

The problem is that I did all modules "auto scan" with AVDI and dash or immo or EDC15 were not recognized. In fact ony 3 modules were recognized.
I used SBB key programmer and it communicated with immo - gave me serial #.
Can AVDI work with the US made diesel Jetta? I did petro Jetta before and had no problem.
Thanks again.

Anyone?
Could it be temp lockout?

At the best, your car doesn'thave immo system, to make sure take a llok here:
VW Key remote fob FAQ for mk4: disassembly for battery change, program instructions, and replacement cost (http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a4/vw-smart-key-remote-replacement.htm)

Othewise it's strange that you can not communicate with ecu or dash. Did you try with a generic scantool just to check wether you can enter in obd2, as this car as us-model should support obd2.
Do you have acces to vcds?

SBB was able to communicate with immo, I must have looked for it in edc15. It coudn't get the PIN.
Yes I have VCDS.

Pin is stored in ECU in VAG cars from immo3 generation, to 6.2001 is immo2 and only in dash/immobox PIN is stored. Probably dash is no VDO, in this year it is very often. Try turn right button from dash 360degree, when dont go its mean in Golf4/Jetta that dash is no VDO. Read eeprom with programmer from dash and post here, probably someone give You PIN.

Is this true for TDI, diesel as well? "to 6.2001 is immo2 and only in dash/immobox PIN is stored."

Hi m8s. Problem solved. The culprit was aftermarket head unit installed. Pin #3 is K-line on the factory and this aftermarket harness connected it to +12V. That prevented the diagnostic equipment from connecting. I cut the wire and retrieved PIN with AVDI k-line function.
Thanks and hope this helps someone.

It is true for every motor, but after 6.2001 can be still immo2 generation like LT or A3 1.9TDI 90km. You can see on ross-tech side that when You dont have in identification VIN number then is immo2 or older in this case You dont need PIN to make synchro between ECU and immo/dash.
