Hey i've got my dreambox 500c connected by optical, i've only had it for a a few weeks, but the only channel where i pick up a dolby digital signal is bbc hd, others i dont thnk broadcast in dolby digital, from what i've seen. what channels are you looking at that give DD?

Yes the only channel I get DD now is BBC HD but DD used to work with DW 1.6 image on the movie channels.
Also a friend of mine gets DD on movies on his Kryptview box on movies

It depends on your cable provider. On NT*L in Ireland they only broadcast in stereo, so that's what I get over the TOS link to my receiver.
