Hi friend, where is SBSL in BMW E60 2004r SRS system? Launch show me DTC "9862 - Control-unit fault" and i must find module :)

SBSL is one of many airbag ECU's in a BMW. There's one on each B pillar - thats the big post between front and rear doors (the right side one is SBSR). The L at the end means its the Left hand side as you sit in the drivers seat so in a UK car thats the passenger side or Left hand drive car its the Drivers side. Confused yet? Good. Its located right at the bottom of the B pillar and it's a wedge shaped aluminium ECU measuring (from memory) about 10cm X 8cm and 3cm high.

As far as I know, a second hand unit will not work unless you know of some way to re-write the last 7 digits of the car's VIN number into the second hand unit, otherwise the vehicles electronics will still reject the new unit and the airbag light will remain on. And if anyone knows how to re-write the VIN number in the SBSL and SBSR units, , I would love to hear from them, because this is why I'm searching this topic.

Y si alguien sabe cómo volver a escribir el número VIN en las unidades SBSL y SBSR, me encantaría saber de ellos, porque es por eso que estoy buscando este tema.
