tried setting up a client with cccamd but log in ok then it says close and just repeats then says cw failed.

had mine delivered today from china was the orton x403 model first impressions quite good a little bigger than a dm 500 has scart option no on off switch at back came with remote and rca leads not bad for just under ?70.
first impressions menu looks easy to get round picture quality is good on sd and hd did a scan on 28e took a little while but picked things up ok noticed it a bit fiddly to try and get channels in a sort of order but early days .
has software loaded is dated dec 2010 so need to update this it read my sly freesat card straight away and this included pick tv which cccam can not read on my 9100. plugged usb drive in and allthough format in ntfs read pics and mp3 files but no divx or avi files .
remote control seems a bit plasticy to feel and not very responsive to instructions nearly have to get on top off the box to move up or down but early days.
i see there is a function to back up your firmware prior to upgrading but can not see where you can back up your channel list as this needs to be done before you update then you can load it back anyone point me in the right direction how to do this
tried the network picked it up straight away took a bit of time to work out the input function for my line sorted this i added by remote worked no problems with channel changing quicker than my spiderbox,
does not show any exm info that i can see or hop info .
need to google this nasscam feature all in all seems very good for the price i paid at under ?70 for an hd box that does networking features seems a good entry level box
any advise any one can give an saving channels or anything else please feel free to comment

I have this receiver(Orton X403p) here in Africa, and considering what it does I believe it is good value for money.My issue is there is an hd channel which shows picture but not no sound.I've tried all I can including upgrading with the 1st Dec 2010 version( i had the 29 july 2010 version when the receiver was sent to me) but still no audio.Can any one help?Thanks

Hey aarmstrong 89 lad.Dont worry,once you get the hang of and update the software this machine is a piece of piss.Just visit the website from patchas post cos theres videos and downloads.Took me a week to sort it all out but now its runnin like a dream kid.Have to say though,you have to point the remote at a certain angle to the reciever for it to work;but at ?80,what do you expect?

I'm currently in the process of buying one of these. A mate brought his Openbox S10 over a few days ago to demo it to me and it was just what I'm after, except it didn't have SPDIF, which this one does. The Orton also seems to have a better EPG screen (current channel displayed in a window when browsing EPG etc.)

Will report back once I've received it and set it all up. :)

Have an update problem with my newly purchased ibox x4, worked ok with original 1.3 firmware but when I tryto update with usb get a bootloader mismatch error and doesnt load. Will update sw+bootloader to 1.4 but lost my config settings, they were replaced with weather forecast and rss feed. Have gone back to original, now reading posts about clone boxes and not sure whether havent got the right update or mines a clone, anybody got any ideas? thanks in advance.

I have connect the receiver through HDMI cable to my monitor TV.
I have dm800 too and I dont have those problems with the channels. Is possible that the HDMI cable can not work with Dolby?

I have the same issue on my Orton 403p,it wont downmix the dolby digital channels.
I tried numerous types of firmware but they all had the same issue.

Back again.
The problem was not solved but I could have sound for the HD channels with another TV LED that support Dolby Digital.
So far I have sound with my Philips 32PFL5605. But with my monitor TV Samsung T220HD i couldn't have sound.
I cant control the sound with the remote control of the receiver.
I can only mute it. The reasone that there are not too many complains is that it depends with the type of your TV.
If you are lucky with your TV you are ok else I dont recommend this receiver to someone that is not sure for the support of Dolby in his/her TV

Hi everyone I got an opticum hd x403p a few days ago. No manual came with it. I have no information at all. I have tried to set it up using old sly dish. So far I have picked up 1105 channels, about 700 of these are locked. I have searched every website and can get no information and it seems impossible to get an owners manual. Can anyone help me. Hi guys, please correct me if i'm wrong but i haven't found so far the method to GET the ccam file from an Opticum 4X. I know how to send the file to Opticum but what if i need to edit it on the fly? Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your answer, but i have OPTICUM 4x 405P and the menu comes up only with IP configue option. Do you have any idea how to see/get cccam file

I got OPICUM/ ORTON X403p and impressed and this one has Scart as well and works like treat and no looping problem. It is very easy to use I adding few pics now . It is available at ebay @ ?75.00
IT DOES NOT TAKE S9 FIRMWARE BUT I HAVE IT THE LATEST VERSION. I can email them to you.

I have another issue.
There is a problem when using sharing: CW FAILED
I'm using soft: lemontree (a bit old, cause from about 2012 or 2011, because I have old TV set without HDMI).
Any ideas what might be causing a problem?
