INSPEC is a Windows-based fleet management solution. It contains INFORM, so it provides trip information storage and all reporting capabilities. INSPEC is also designed to upgrade the existing ECM calibration to a July 1997 level if required. It is not designed to replace ESDN, and any further utilization of this functionality resides with the selling Distributorship.
Customers create feature and parameter templates of how they desire each of their vehicles/engines to be operating. INSPEC will use this template to monitor and automatically adjust, as required every time the engine is connected, to ensure their fleet remains INSPECification!
INSPEC is an electronic engine support package that gives you total control over your fleet, including everything from engine recalibration and parameter setting to trip information downloading and reporting. INSPEC downloads data and uploads engine calibrations and parameter settings directly to your Cummins automotive ECM through the industry standard J1587/1708 or 1939 datalinks. It also downloads data and uploads updates and parameter settings for your RoadRelay 4 through J1587/1708, 1939 or RS232 connections.
Of course, the savings come when all of your trucks are running at optimum specs. Because INSPEC easily plugs into the ECM with a single data connection, an entire engine upgrade takes less time than it takes to fill fuel tanks, making it simple for you to upgrade your entire fleet in a very short period of time. This allows you to react quicker to market conditions, such as an increase in the cost of fuel, and ensure your continued viability. Every time INSPEC connects to an engine, it compares the current engine specifications with the specifications entered into the computer, storing any discrepancies. This feature makes it easy to spot engine tampering.
In addition to these engine management capabilities, INSPEC contains the entire reporting capability of INFORM (discussed above).
With INFORM or INSPEC, fleets can manage their trip information needs effectively, whether running a few trucks or an entire fleet. The ability to track and effectively manage groups of vehicles and drivers eliminates paper and allows you to spend time more productively.
Both INFORM and INSPEC also make data transfer between sites possible, so you can collect data from several branch locations and bring it to a central location for consolidation and analysis.
At this time, the RoadRelay 3 is NOT compatible with INFORM or INSPEC software. RoadRelay 3 customers should continue to use the InRoads office software for their business reporting needs. RoadRelay 4 customers will need to purchase INFORM and INSPEC for their office software needs. RoadRelay 3 customers will be able to begin taking advantage of INFORM and INSPEC?s impressive fleet management capabilities beginning Q4, 2001.
