HI,
If someone has programmed a key or read EWS micro on BMW Z4 2007 could you please explain:
1. What version EWS, (I believe it's 4)
2. Best read by R260, please confirm if the attached pic is OK
3. Physical location and how to remove EWS from CAR
4. Will Abrites Tagkey tool will do the job in creating a key ok?

Thanks a million

Found out it's EWS4, tag key tool has option to generate key for it to PCF7935. Not clear if dump has to be written back or not?

Gambit programs keys from EWS4? What EWS version you select? My Gambit only have a BMW EWS 1,2,3 functions.

I have Abrites tagkey tool and it has EWS4 option to generate a key from a dump. So I can generate a key but my question is Do I have to modify EWS4 dump somehow and write it back or just generate a key and start the car.

Read the ews 4 chip and post dump here , then you can use the znoo1 transponder tool and write to pcf chip .

what tool you use to read the ews4 ?

I use R260 to read. I can also use xprog-m but not sure what pins to lift if any?
Why do you say "post dump here then..." if nothing has to be changed in it and just a new key generated/written in AVDI? as fas as I see it.

no need to lift any pins , just read with xprog-m , and generate key with AVDI,.

i said to post dump so we can check it for you , some program like gambit you need to reset keys and write new dump to ews , because it can make key for position 1 and 2 only .

Read with Rosfar EWS4 module. Loaded to Tagkey tool and generated a transponder to PCF7935.
Easy.
I tried to write to EML/remote but was not able to no matter how I changed position.
What's the trick to write to bmw diamond head remote with EML chip?

I know that EML cannot be written again if it's used, I bought it as new from China...
I could not read with Abrites tag key tool but read with tmpro2. It says:

Recognizing transponder...
|||||||||||||||
Transponder recognized as PCF7930/31
BMW ID73
10 km (6 miles)
Data: 55 02 BD 56 37 90 58 93 19 41 3C 9F 00 DE 4D 12

Is there any way to salvage this?

This transponder is used key from ews3:
- key no 02
- fixed code: BD56 3790 5893 1941 3C9F 00DE 4D12
- odo 10km

If you have chip password, you can reprogram this transponder.

I wish I new which pins to lift on EML chip so the transponder is disabled and battery charge would still happen. Anyone?
