Hello,

Just bought (from ebay) USB to RS232 and a null cable modem to connect dead DB with PC using Dreamup.

Tried every driver on the CD that came with the Cable as well as the drivers on Digital Kaos, nothing seems to work.

When the cable is plugged to the computer a popup window comes says that the device is malfunctioning and advices to reconnect it, is it a driver issue?

Tried on WinXP SP3 and Windows 7 64Bits (another PC).

Thanks,
Karim

this is a driver file for all o/s systems try the driver for your system
but first deleate all traces of the usb to serial convertor you have on
your computer, these devices work great for some others have problems
i use a usb to serial convertor i got from maplin and it works first class.

Hi,

No Luck, didn't work too.
Setup completed successfully but when I insert the USB in the PC a window popup says unrecognized device connected.

No sign for the driver in the Device Manager too except in the USB section whereas there's an unknown device?, any clues, or the cheap 6$ cable is dead too?

did you clear all traces of the device before trying the driver file?
when i set mine up i plugged the usb to serial convertor into a usb port
on the computer before running the driver file and it did load and shows as
com port 3 on my computer, you have to remember that you must always
the same usb port on the computer or it will say unrecognised device
i'm useing windows 7 now but my other computer which was vista set
a driver up for the device when i plugged it in. but as i said lots have
problems getting the device to work. i was advised to buy one
from maplin it was a bit costly and it works first class.
this is what it looks like
