Hi, I was thinking of writing a plugin for a 8000HD that autofound satelites on a moterised non-USALS setup.
Essentially, the idea would be to:
FIND SAT SIGNALS LOCKS:
1) load-in / (or better) download a set of valid transponder details for the known satatlite list.
2) Move the disk to start at one hard limit of the disk position.
3) step once, and cycle throuh the transpnder settings to see if anthingthing is found.
4) if anything found (i.e is there a lock) note the BER and Signal stength, keep moving the dish SLOWLY one step at a time on that transponder setting until lock lost and then save the position which has the highest value.
5) repeat untill all max signal locks available have been found and the disk is at the other hard limit position.
ASSOCIATE LOCKS WITH CORRECT SAT:
6) Step through all the lock postions for the satelites found blind seach / tune channels.
7) load-in / (or better) download a set of valid chnnels that uniquely identify a given satalite and associate with the found channels.
8) Save the correct position for the correct satelite.
All Done!!
So, am I mad? Has someone done this before? If so, where?
