Hello all,
I'm a little new to the site but I have been adviced this is the place to be to help me with my problem... And the problem isn't a medical symptom or alcohol problem though I wish it was lol.

I have owned my 1.8 16v 2001 Vauxhall Zafira Elegance for about 5 months now and its recently started to have a problem with idling. The car will act up now again by revving by it self, and bouncing the rev counter and sometimes it can stick open and just rev all the way up until I turn the engine off.
I have cleaned the throttle body up with carb cleaner, I have checked all hoses for splits and I have bled the petrol just incase there is air in the tank as the tank has been off to change the level sensor.

So far I have came to a blank and I am running out of options of what else it can be, I would appreciate any help that is given with this.

Cheers all!

could need the tbh reset or a earth to tbh
could even be an ecm fault do you have any codes from ecu ?

try having codes read and get back to us with results
also try all breathers to the tbh from rocker cover and drilling's in thb for being clogged
many faults fit these symptom

Thanks for the quick reply, I have had my friends opcom plugged into my car and no faults show which is why its become a choose a job on the list and narrow it down. I will try the breathers again, but when it comes to earths etc I'm not sure with.

By the way, I am unsure of your short had of "tbh" just so I know does this mean throttle body housing? As I have cleaned this with carb cleaner recently.

I haven't tried to reset it as its not shown as a fault, but I can try and do it when I go see him next and see if that has anything to do with it. I was also told that the throttle pedal could need to be reset, have you ever heard of this causing an issue?
