Try the Advent Vega...?199 from pc world..The spec is actually better then the ipad 1, and as good as the ipad 2.
You even get flash player as well ( which is not available on the ipad 1 ) It also had HDMI out so connection to a HDTV is great for playing back HD content.

I made the mistake of buying a cheap one online from a site called Jexaa. Was a total waste of time. From doing my own research online I gather they buy these cheap 8" android 2.3 Tablets that you can get from places like DHgate they then call them Jextab and sell them on.
I ordered a new Jextab 810 2.3 but received an android 2.2 that had been used. When I contacted them they advised me to flash it myself to 2.3. The aftercare was very poor and the item wasn't as advertised and had a few faults.

Best to stick with with well known retailers as there are loads of cheap Chinese tablets going around on the internet, Ebay and Amazon. If you buy them cheap from DHgate or Ebay at least you know what you should be getting. Sites like Jexaa will rip you off though as they try to make out it's their own new upcoming brand.

The above Advent Vega is a good one. I might get one myself if I get a refund from Jexaa as they have finally got back to me with a returns address after many emails to them.

4 weeks later and still no refund and no response to emails.

Here is a comparison between the Vega and the New ipad 2...As you can see its pretty close.
BTW you can upgrade the Vega memory to 32Gb with a micro SD card

I am yet to upgrade mine to honeycomb....this is still very much in beta. There seems to be a issue with the wifi connection. Hovever there are other roms that can be used, Modaco and corvus5 seem very stable ( i have tried them all and i prefer Modaco )

LOL......to be honest i have tried it, but i still had problems...probably something wrong i was doing...I shall wait till there is another release of this rom and try it again. using Modaco is very good, and you can cutomise it to look like honeycomb if you like though...If anyone wants a copy of my baked version i can upload it.

dropad A8 on dealextreme is very cool. Only draw back is you need an extenal usb modem when you are away from wifi. When you using wifi the thing is fantastic. Cost me $175Australian.

They are only sold by pc world or currys ( Advent is their own make ) so i suggest checking online to see if they are in stock, then order and collect...

The problem with chep tablets is that it doesn?t have enough RAM to run Honeycomb (3.0 - 3.1 - etc.)

I have had one of these 7" Tablets for xmas and I think it's great value for money. It has Gingerbread installed and appears to be 'Rooted' straight from the Factory, which enables me to download and install cracked Apps.
There are certain HD games that will not work, but it is a great little tablet for ?100.
