II ended up doing this way but no joy.

? Remove the cluster and open it.
? Look for the 8 pin chip 93C56
? Look for the silver chrystal and join its contacts.
? (Connect the clip to port) ? Please confirm
? Put the clip on the chip (red on pin 1). On board 93CX6
? Select the menu Opel-Astra-Clip VDO
? The Tacho Universal shows you the old value.
? Select the menu Adjust KM.
? Enter the new value.
? Verify the new value with OK.

Can some one confirm what number to connect the clip to port on board 93CX6?
I tried port 1 read write ok but no display on dash, petrol gauge temperature and rave counter ok but no display on dash. Any help much appreciate.

If you want from dash plug you can use 912 cable and this pin out:

Connector 36 pin
Pins 4 & 22 are +12V (red wires)
pin 24 is GND (black wire)
pin 19 is K-line bus (green wire)

best regards
