You can get the full kit to add a hard drive here...

http://www.hallenberg.com/ide.php

It uses the modem connection. This isn't used in UK cable anyway.

I have been thinking of getting one of this. But am sure I read some wear that you needed a dbox with 32mb ram not the normal 16 to use it, anyone else herd this?

32MB is the normal amount of ram in a dbox2.

If you have 16mb then you have a very very very early version of dbox2 or the additional memory module has fallen out or been removed.

32MB of ram is required to run an emu.

It's not about the functionallity of it, it's about messing with the dbox and seeing what it's capable of. It's like pimping out your car or you console, there's no need for it but you just want to do it because you can.

I remember seeing a pic of a dbox2 that had been modified with component and HDMI output.

Here's a few pics of what folk have done to their dreambox.

Has anyone here actually done this (added a hard drive)? If so how well does it work. I have tried recording to an nfs mount with very little success but would consider investing in this if it works well.

I have the hard drive interface, yet to finish the install (image won't see it) but thats is in progress. My question is on the site given above they show an e-sata mod with a USB socket but no detail in the pics that would give you any idea of the connection to the interface. Anyone have any ideas?:sheep:
